Every day, in our programming, we are choosing to confront historic injustices that continue to define us today.
At the REGARTLESS Human Rights Film Festival, films became more than stories on a screen. They became invitations to question power, confront injustice, listen to difficult truths, and reimagine the world we want to live in.

Through cinema, conversations and collective reflection, we created space for voices that are too often silenced—and reminded ourselves that human rights are not abstract ideas. They are lived experiences.

🎬 Throwback to the Human Rights Film Festival.

Because sometimes, the first step towards change is simply choosing to speak out.

We are excited to add another festival to our portfolio. This time, we are grounding our existence in the very experiences, cultures, stories, music, food, and practices that have shaped our being as Africans. We are going indigenous, and we are speaking power onto the world we want. Ladies and Gents, we bring to you the Incantation Festival happening in Bamenda at our creative center. The 3-day festival seeks to bring together at least 300 participants. Don't miss out on this. Save the date

RESTITUTION
Restitution is more than the return of an object.

What does it mean to return?
Can an object come home while its history remains unheard?
Can restitution restore memory, dignity, identity and agency?

At REGARTLESS, we believe conversations around restitution must go beyond objects. They must include the communities, histories and memories connected to them.
Restitution is also about listening, remembering and restoring relationships.

With the right resources, skills and community leadership, heritage can be protected even while war continues.

Through its Heritage at Risk initiative, REGARTLESS is working with communities in Cameroon’s Northwest and Southwest Regions to document, stabilise and conserve endangered royal, ritual and ancestral heritage.

Because protecting heritage is not something we wait to do after conflict.
It is how communities protect memory, identity and continuity now.

A huge thank you to our partner Gerda Henkel Stiftung for supporting emergency conservation work.

When we convene, we connect knowledge, amplify voices and turn individual efforts into collective action. Together, we create new possibilities. This is what Restitution Beyond Return is, a space created to bring critical decolonial conversations to the centre of public consciousness.

see us in Cairo soon.

.What does restitution mean when the objects come home—but the systems, relationships, knowledge and power around them remain unchanged?

From 30 August – 2 September 2026, REGARTLESS joins partners in Cairo, Egypt, for Restitution Beyond Return: Reclaiming African Heritage in Today’s Geopolitical and Technological Realities.

The four-day initiative brings together heritage leaders, legal experts, cultural practitioners, policymakers, artists and communities to explore what comes after the return: ownership, stewardship, access, technology, memory, justice and the future of African heritage.

The programme features a high-level opening forum, networking and cocktail reception, alongside an exhibition showcasing African-led restitution initiatives, digital storytelling, contemporary art and immersive technologies.

Restitution is not the end of the journey. It is the beginning of reclaiming.
