This is not luck.
This is discipline.
This is showing up every day when it’s hard, when resources are tight, and when giving up feels easier.

Nine years of building trust.
Nine years of serving people before profit.
Nine years of learning, correcting, and staying faithful to the mission.

AMACCUL is proof that institutions don’t grow by noise, they grow by consistency.

To our members, staff, board, and communities:
this journey continues. The work is not done. 🚀

🌙 AMACCUL Kombe at Night — A Light in the Heart of a Rural Community

When the rest of rural Kombe settles into silence, this building stays awake — not because of electricity, but because of purpose.

Here, in a community where people walk long distances to sell cocoa, cassava, palm oil, plantains, and small farm produce…
Where mothers save 200, 300, 500 CFA at a time…
Where youths hustle from the farm to the roadside just to earn their daily bread…

This place stands as a promise.

This is more than a branch.
This is the heartbeat of a rural people who refuse to give up.
A safe place where small dreams grow into possibilities.
Where a widow’s little savings matter…
Where a farmer’s dignity is protected…
Where a young bike rider’s future can begin.

Every light shining here tells a story of trust restored.
Every colour reflects the belief that a credit union is not a bank —
It is family.
It is community.
It is people helping people.

Kombe may be rural, but its vision is big.
And this picture says everything:

AMACCUL is here.
We are present.
And we are building a future that shines — even in the heart of a rural village.

🔥 THIS IS THE DAY AMACCUL’S DESTINY WAS TESTED 🔥

As we prepare to celebrate our 10th Anniversary, let me share one of the most interesting stories from our earliest beginnings.

Registration back then was 2,000 FCFA, and by the end of that day we had collected just 44,000 FCFA.

After we left the meeting hall and were on our way back, the guest speaker turned to the visionary and suggested that the money should be shared, because “it’s registration money”, and everyone believed we were simply creating a farmers’ cooperative society.

But the visionary was carrying a bigger dream, a picture too big to explain at that moment.
He knew AMACCUL was not meant to be an ordinary farmers’ group, it was meant to become a community financial institution, a movement that would empower farmers, traders, women, youths and entire communities.

That 44,000 FCFA was not just money.
It was a seed, and seeds are never shared; they are planted.

Today, nearly 10 years later, AMACCUL stands as living proof that vision is greater than circumstance.

From a simple meeting…
To a suggestion that could have ended everything…
To a movement transforming lives across communities.

WHO COULD HAVE THOUGHT WE WOULD COME THIS FAR?

The humble beginning of AMACCUL’s journey.
When I look at these pictures, my heart becomes soft.
This is how Alamankon Cooperative Credit Union (AMACCUL) was born — not in a fancy hall, not with big sponsors, not with consultants or experts — but with ordinary men and women who believed in a dream.
Some walked from distant farms.
Some left their market stalls.
Some came with hope, others with fear.
But everyone came with ONE thing: faith.
We sat in a small room, squeezed on benches, listening, dreaming, arguing, believing…
We didn’t have computers.
We didn’t have offices.
We didn’t even fully know what the future would look like.
But deep inside, we knew we wanted something better for our families and our community.
Looking at these photos today, I see faces.
Faces that carried this movement on their backs.
Faces that believed when nothing was certain.
Faces that stood with us when AMACCUL was just an idea.
Who would have thought that the union that started in these rooms…
…would become one of the fastest-growing community-based credit unions in Cameroon?
…would build branches from scratch?
…would empower farmers, women, traders, youths, and entire villages?
…would prove that real banking starts with people, not buildings?
If these walls could speak, they would tell stories of courage.
Stories of sacrifice.
Stories of resilience.
Stories of a people who refused to be left behind.
Today, as we stand almost 10 years later, we say:
God has been faithful.
The community has been strong.
The vision is alive.
AMACCUL was not built by money —
It was built by trust.
By sweat.
By unity.
By ordinary people doing extraordinary things together.
These pictures are not just memories.
They are a reminder of where we started…
and a symbol of how far we can still go.
To everyone who was there from day one — thank you.
You are the true founders.
The true pioneers.
The roots of this tree that is now giving shade to thousands.
And to those who just joined the journey —
remember this:
Every great movement starts small.

She wakes up every morning with a dream,
to buy just 15,000 FCFA worth of fresh maize and plums,
so she can roast and sell by the roadside.

You stop by and ask her to open an account with 25,000 FCFA,
and save for three months before she can get a loan.

She doesn’t have a national ID card either,
and the cost of getting one alone is 15,000 – 20,000 FCFA.

Days pass. Hunger strikes. Her children wait.
Then her friend takes her to their Njangi group,
where she borrows without any ID, no shares, no paperwork,
and she starts roasting and selling.

In that Njangi, she becomes comfortable.
She is accepted, she belongs.
Her voice is heard.
She has the right to vote and be voted.
She can now pay her children’s school fees,
take care of her health,
and provide food for her family.

Meanwhile, you sit comfortably in your office,
boasting about poverty alleviation and financial inclusion,
while the Njangi quietly does the work you were meant to do.

And yet you wonder why she no longer listens to you,
while you keep singing the same old song.

If you like, quote me wrong,
but I think there’s something Njangi groups are doing that we must learn from.

“Do We Buy Food or Buy Identity?”

Millions across the world are still locked out, not because they lack dreams, but because they lack documents.
In some countries, the cost of a national ID is the working capital of an entire household.

Think about that.
While we sit in conference rooms discussing financial inclusion, they sit under leaking roofs calculating whether to buy food or buy identity.

And we call that inclusion?
How can we talk of inclusion when the gate to the financial system is guarded by a plastic card the poor cannot afford?
We speak of innovation, yet design systems that keep the poorest outside the door.

Financial inclusion cannot be real if identity becomes a privilege.

At AMACCUL, we chose a different path
to see people, not papers;
to measure trust through relationships, not bureaucracy.

Alternative Identification is not a shortcut, it is justice.
It is the bridge between exclusion and belonging, between poverty and dignity.

Until we find courage to rethink the system,
millions will remain invisible,
not because they are poor,
but because we failed to see them.
