World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

This year the United Nations named the theme "Trapped Behind the Scam" because today, trafficking often begins not with force, but with a fake job offer sent to someone who had no other options.

People are not trafficked because they are weak. They are trafficked because poverty, hunger, and lack of decent work left them with nowhere else to turn.

That is exactly why BWC exists.

We build vocational skills. We empower women. We create pathways to dignified, sustainable work , in Cameroon, Uganda, Nigeria, and Nepal. Not just because it changes lives, but because economic empowerment is the most powerful form of protection against exploitation.

Today we remember the 27.6 million people living in modern slavery worldwide. We stand with every survivor. And we keep building , so tomorrow, fewer people have to make impossible choices.

TESTIMONY😊, In Her Own Words chazy loyang Today, my heart is filled with gratitude.

A last year, after the passing of my grandmother, life became uncertain. At a time when I questioned how I would continue my education, **Better World Charity (BWC)** awarded me a scholarship to pursue my Bachelor’s degree at L’institut Universite des Grandes ecoles des Tropiques (IUGET) Bonamoussadi.

That scholarship was more than financial support.
It was hope.
It was confidence.
It was a second chance.

Today, I am proud to share that I successfully defended my Bachelor’s project titled:
**”Design and Implementation of an Edge-AI Mobile System for Offline Cocoa Disease Diagnosis and Yield Forecasting in Cameroon.”**
The project, **CocoaEdge**, uses Artificial Intelligence, IoT, and an offline-first mobile application to help cocoa farmers detect Black Pod disease, predict disease risks, and improve productivity in rural communities with limited internet access.

I defended with **Excellent with Distinction**, received the **Congratulations of the Jury**, and was encouraged by the examination panel to publish the research as a scientific article.

This achievement would not have been possible without the support of Better World Charity.

My sincere appreciation goes to the **Founder** Prince Pasquin , the **National Coordinator** Mr. Emmanuel Afumbom , Shiru kiboi and the entire Better World Charity for believing in my potential and investing in my future.

Your scholarship was not simply an investment in my education, it was an investment in a life, a dream, and a future that I hope will continue creating impact for many others.

This milestone is proof that when organizations invest in young people, they help create solutions that can transform communities.

Empowering Persons with Disabilities Through Inclusion and Sustainable Action

An inclusive society is one where everyone has the opportunity to contribute, grow, and thrive.

As part of our Women’s Month celebration, Better World Charity (BWC) hosted a seminar in Bamenda under the theme “Action for Change: Promoting Sustainable Practices for Global Impact.” The event brought together women, young leaders, and persons with disabilities to promote inclusion, raise awareness, and encourage meaningful participation in sustainable development.

At BWC, we believe that empowering persons with disabilities means breaking barriers, creating equal opportunities, and ensuring that every voice is heard. By fostering inclusive conversations and strengthening community participation, we are working towards a future where no one is left behind.

SDG Innovate Cameroon 2025 happened. 🌿

Last August, Yaoundé became a room full of people who refused to let their circumstances write their story.

Solar cars built from recycled parts. 10,000+ trees committed to the ground. Pitches that didn't just answer the question "what's the problem?" , they answered "and here's what I'm doing about it."

This was the Grande Finale of SDG Innovate Cameroon 2025. Two days. Real people. Real solutions.

We're in 2026 now , and we're still carrying the energy from that room.

SDG 4: Quality Education _Why It Changes Everything🤔‼️

Education is more than a classroom. It is opportunity, dignity, and hope.

When a child receives quality education, the impact extends far beyond school walls. Education equips people with the knowledge and skills to break the cycle of poverty, improve their health, protect the environment, promote gender equality, and build stronger, more peaceful communities.

“I never imagined that baking could change my life.”

For Nkeh Blessing Tamfu, what began as a simple opportunity to learn a skill became the beginning of a completely new chapter.

When Blessing enrolled in Better World Charity’s Vocational Training Programme, she wasn’t just learning how to bake cakes and pastries, she was gaining confidence, discovering her potential, and building a pathway to financial independence.

Today, the skills she acquired at BWC’s Multipurpose Training Centre have become more than a craft. They have become a source of income, a source of dignity, and a source of hope. Every cake she bakes tells a story of resilience, determination, and the power of opportunity.

Blessing’s journey reminds us that sustainable change doesn’t happen through temporary assistance alone. It happens when people are equipped with practical skills that enable them to earn a living, support their families, and shape their own futures.
