Sometimes the best moments of connection happen in the simplest ways. A playful match of arm wrestling, a room full of genuine smiles, and a referee taking his job very seriously!

Beyond the practical skills, training, and mentorship, our space at Better World Charity is built to be a safe haven, a place where young people can relax, laugh, express themselves, and just be young. Because building a better world starts with creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and connected.

Three months can pass quickly. But a lot can happen in that time.‼️

From community outreach and capacity building to conversations around education, skills, youth and sustainable development, the past few months have given us many reasons to keep showing up.

We’ve learned from the communities we work with, shared ideas, supported different initiatives, and met people who continue to remind us why this work matters.

To everyone who has volunteered, participated, shared our work, supported a programme, or simply followed along, thank you. ❤️

As we look towards the final months of the year, there is still work to do and more stories to tell.

Christmas is about more than what we receive.

For some children, the most meaningful part of the season can be something as simple as having someone show up, spend time with them, and make them feel remembered.

As part of BWC’s outreach at Agape Children’s Home, we had the opportunity to share the Christmas season with the children through time, care, and togetherness.

Moments like these are a reminder that community is built in the little things — showing up, paying attention, and making room for others.

Some partnerships go beyond a logo or a name they are built around shared values, meaningful conversations, and a commitment to impact.

At SDGs Innovate Cameroon 2025, we had the privilege of having Chia Joash, CEO of Chia Group of Companies, as one of our distinguished jury members.

His contribution, perspective, and engagement with the young innovators who took the stage reminded us of the importance of bringing experienced leaders into spaces where the next generation is building.

At Better World Charity, we value partners who don’t just support the vision, but actively contribute to it.

Here’s to more conversations, more collaboration, and more impact.

2030 sounds far away. It isn’t.❓

We often talk about the Sustainable Development Goals as big global targets, but progress is also happening in places much closer to home.

A young person learning a skill.
A child staying in school.
A woman gaining the confidence and opportunity to earn.
A community finding a way to solve a problem together.

These may seem like small steps, but they are part of the bigger picture.

With 2030 getting closer, it is worth looking at where we are, what has changed, and what still needs to be done.

The SDGs are not something for governments and organisations alone. They affect all of us.

What if learning could change the direction of a life❓

Literacy is more than knowing how to read and write.

It is the ability to understand, communicate, make informed decisions, access opportunities, and imagine a different future.

This International Literacy Day, we are reminded of the importance of SDG 4: Quality Education, because everyone deserves the opportunity to learn and reach their potential.

A book can open a mind.
A lesson can build confidence.
An education can open a door that once seemed impossible.

Education doesn’t just change individuals. It can change communities.

What makes someone a leader❓

Is it a title? Being the person in charge? Or is it what you do when nobody is watching?

The New Generation Leaders Summit is a chance to have conversations around leadership, ideas, responsibility and the kind of communities young people want to help build.

Leadership can start in very ordinary places speaking up when something is wrong, helping someone learn, starting a project, listening to people around you, or simply taking responsibility when it would be easier to walk away.

You don’t have to wait until someone calls you a leader.

What does democracy mean to you?

Is it simply having the right to vote?

Or is it also having a voice, being heard, participating in decisions, and knowing that your rights matter?

This International Day of Democracy, we reflect on SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions and the role each of us can play in building fairer, more inclusive communities.

Democracy is stronger when people participate.
Justice is stronger when people speak up.
Communities are stronger when everyone has a voice.

A better world needs people who don’t just care, but participate.

A skill can change a future.

A young person who learns a practical skill gains more than knowledge.

They gain the possibility to earn, create, become independent, and build something of their own.

That is why vocational training matters.

At BWC, we believe young people should have access to the tools and opportunities they need to turn skills into sustainable livelihoods.

As we close the quarter, we’re working towards equipping our training centre with the machines and resources needed to make that possible.

Because sometimes, the difference between learning a skill and earning from it is simply having the right tools.
