Anppcan Cameroon had and engaging session to identify cultural norms that ignite GBV. This brought together 12 women from the Bamenda III Subdivision, Mezam division. These women included Women from the Mboroo community. They felt safe to share their personal experience and how they believed that some cultural practices don't promote gender equality and women inclusion. The session ended with the participants promissing to continue sensitization with the aim to tranform cultural norms and practice that can breed equality and promote women inclusion.

🌸 Celebrating Women Community Champions 🌸

As we look forward to celebrating International Women’s Day next month in March, we will proudly be honoring the incredible women who mentor, uplift, and add lasting value within our communities.

These women may not always seek the spotlight, yet their impact is transformational. They open doors, nurture leadership, and create safe spaces for others to grow and thrive.

To every woman building, guiding, and empowering others your leadership is shaping stronger, more resilient communities.

The GBV focal person for Anppcan Cameroon who doubled as a member of the WOPEN Peace Builders Network was invited by MOHCAM Cameroon last Saturday to attain the closing session of the newly trained Women Mediators in the Northwest region of Cameroon. The session was attended by a good number of government stakeholders and civil society activists. The working staff was handed to the newly trained,to take it to their communities, where they will use the mediation knowledge to meditate on cases for a better conflict resilient community. I was honored to meet barrister Tamoh Olivia a high profile lady who is the coordinator for FIDA In the Northwest and also double as a member of the WOPEN Peace Builders network . We are doing good and we hope to do better in the days ahead.
