Our visit to an orphanage in Bamenda yesterday Sunday.

Objective
After a successful screening campaign( HIV, Helatitis B, hepatitis C, fungi,free consultation,malaria testing) some months back at the orphanage, GLIVA came back with food supply (rice) since we saw the population there and the need.

How we spent the day there.
We met with the administration, exchange of pleasantries with the children and moving to the yard of the orphanage.
We had a word of prayers from one of the kids, then we proceeded with sharing of snacks(biscuits) to the kids .
Some animations, présentation of the gifts( bags of rice) to the administration and the kids, word of appreciation and warm greetings from the kids.

In view of the world youth day and world humanitarian Day, today 16/08/2024,Our team kicked it off today at Induction Christ Glory Church where the youths are having a youth camp.

Our team met with the youths, their parents and the church authorities and we carried out the following activities;

-Health talk which involved menstrual hygiene, health education, communicable diseases and non-commicable diseases, mental health, gender based violence

-carrier orientation

- free consultation

-free screening for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV and testing for Malaria in those with fever.

Introducing Leku Fabrise Adze, one of the Youth Delegates who will be taking part in the 9th edition of the Youth Development Fellowship, scheduled to take place in Yaounde, Cameroon, from July 29 to August 1, 2024.

Leku Fabrise Adze, is a holder of a Bsc in Medical Laboratory Sciences and also a Masters in Public Health. Leku is an entrepreneur- CEO of LEKU MEDICAL DIAGNOSTIC CENTER, a clinic located in Bamenda Cameroon, and also the founder of GREEN LIGHT VISION ASSOCIATION (GLIVA), a humanitarian organization that also advocates for the UN SDGs.

He believes that participating in the Youth Development Fellowship will give him the opportunity to acquire more skills and to network with other young leaders, enabling him to better contribute to his community development and the attainment of Global Goals.

Community outreach yesterday in an orphanage in Bamenda. We did free consultations, screening for Hepatitis B and C, tested for malaria, Tuberculosis and fungi for those presenting with signs and symptoms
