4 Ways to Grow in God

Apostle Michael Orokpo

When we study the stages of growth in the Kingdom, we discover that there are four fundamental levels of spiritual growth.

1. The Level of the Child

All it takes to become a child of God is to receive His life and His divine nature.
The moment you are born again, you become a child of God.
But sadly, many believers remain at this stage all their lives.

A child is precious to God because he carries His nature,
but a child is not useful when God wants to advance His agenda.

At the stage of childhood, the relationship with God is purely transactional:

We come to God for forgiveness of sins,

We come for daily bread,

We pray only to receive something.

A child of God is therefore a consumer.
When he gives, it is so that he may receive a hundredfold.
When he prays, it is for his personal needs.

God, in His love, answers—but this is not His ultimate aim.
You must grow to understand that there is a Kingdom to advance.

2. The Level of the Son

In 1 John 2:12–13 it is written:

“I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven… I write to you, young men, because you are strong, the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.”

Here, we are no longer talking about children, but sons.

Sons are strong.
The Word of God dwells richly in them.
And they fight the battles of God.

God does not directly fight Satan—
if the Creator confronted His creature, the creature would be instantly annihilated.
It is the sons who carry the battles of Elohim.

As long as you are not engaged in the spiritual warfare of the Kingdom,
you have remained at the level of a consumer.

Many believers do not even know the prophetic battles of the Kingdom in their nation or in the world.
And even when these realities are revealed to them, they feel nothing—
because they are still children, like a two-year-old who cares only about biscuits and not about great responsibilities.

3. The Level of Elders (Presbyters)

In 1 Timothy 3:1, Paul speaks about overseers.
These are elders, men who have perfected their character and are qualified to supervise God's agenda.

They do not only fight—
they coordinate.

The battles of the Kingdom require intelligence, strategy, and organization.
Elders know what must be established in a territory so that the victory of God can manifest.

4. The Level of Fathers

Finally, John writes:

“I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning.”
— 1 John 2:13

Fathers are those who have finished their course.
Like Paul, they can say:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

At this level, their lives are marked by intimacy.
They live in deep contemplation of eternal realities because they have completed their assignment on earth.

Conclusion

We must progress:
from children to sons,
from sons to elders,
from elders to fathers.

For God is looking for:

sons who will carry His battles,

elders who will coordinate His work, and

fathers who will live in intimacy and eternity.

🔥 WISDOM TO TURN YOUR JOB INTO A MINISTRY — WITHOUT BEING A PASTOR

By Pastor Jacques Amessan

💡 1. Your Job Can Become Your Altar!

Every blessing has a spiritual address.
And every act of obedience that God inspires is connected to a specific territory.

👉 So if God placed you where you are — it’s not by accident.
Your office, your shop, your classroom, your market stall, your keyboard, or your microphone… can become your field of ministry.

You don’t need a pulpit to impact the world —
you just need the anointing in your daily life.

👣 2. Jesus Moved — What About You?
Matthew 9:35–37

Jesus moved. He walked, He went to people.
That’s why He cannot use someone who stays locked in their comfort zone!

He cared about people’s health, emotions, and suffering.
Even today, Jesus is looking for Kingdom ambassadors
who will show His compassion — in companies, hospitals, offices, and schools!

💬 Many receive miracles, but have no shepherd.
And when there is no shepherd, even with miracles, people end up empty and depressed.
👉 The miracle does not replace the relationship.

🌾 3. The Real Harvest Is Not in Church

Most of those God wants to save will never set foot in a temple.
So God is looking for believers who will say:

> “Lord, make my job an altar. Let my meeting room become a place of visitation.”

It’s not about inviting people to the temple —
it’s about bringing the temple to the people.

Your job can become your spiritual microphone.
Your service can become your silent gospel.
Your attitude can be a living sermon.

⚙️ 4. Ministry ≠ Title, but Service

The word ministry comes from the Greek word diaconia, which means “service.”

So:
You are doing ministry when you meet a need.
You are doing ministry when you please God.
You are doing ministry when you reveal the abilities of Jesus Christ through your work.

💼 Every profession is a manifestation of God on earth:
the doctor reveals the God who heals,
the mechanic reveals the God who repairs,
the teacher reveals the God who enlightens,
and the hairdresser reveals the God who restores lost glory! 😄

💰 5. Keep Your Heart Pure

You can do the same thing as someone else,
but what makes the difference is your intention.

If you do God’s work just to get paid, you’re running a shop.
But if you do your work to glorify Jesus, you’re tending an altar.

God looks at the heart before the results.
Don’t let money become your goal — make God’s joy your priority.

When your intentions change, your spiritual mantle changes too.

🤝 6. The Suitable Helper
Genesis 2:18–20

God said, “It is not good for man to be alone.”
But being surrounded is not the same as being helped.

👉 Someone who is not like you cannot help you.
Ruth and Eve entered their destinies through their desire to help.
What if your desire to help is the key to your elevation?

It’s not only prayer that opens destiny —
it’s a serving heart.

⚡ 7. The Mantle and the Anointing

Do you want to turn your job into ministry?
Then you need the mantle of the Holy Spirit.

The anointing gives you spiritual health,
angels open doors of opportunity,
and the Holy Spirit teaches you to produce heavenly results on earth.

💫 When you work for Jesus, you are not alone.
You can sense that Someone is walking with you.
Angels guard you, doors open, barriers break.

> If you reject the anointing, you’ll end up fearing witchcraft.
But if you walk in God’s presence, even witches will respect you.

🙌 8. The Great Decision

👉 Decide today to turn your job into a ministry.
Don’t seek to be a pastor — seek to be useful to God.

Be the reflection of Jesus where you work.
Let your heart, your behavior, and your service become your testimony.

The Holy Spirit wants to inspire how you think, work, speak, and help.
And angels will accompany every action done to please Jesus.
🔥
The Kingdom needs anointed professionals, not just preachers.
God wants prophetic hairdressers, inspired entrepreneurs, intercessory teachers, Holy-Spirit-filled accountants, and evangelistic drivers! 🚗🔥

Seek to help.
Seek to love.
Seek to shine for Jesus.
And you will see your workplace become your field of glory.
