The Netanyahu government is reportedly planning a full-scale conquest and occupation of the Gaza Strip. This military operation would involve, among other measures, the forced relocation of 2.1 million people to the southern part of the Strip, deepening the already dire humanitarian crisis.

Western governments, at best, remain passive observers as a state perpetrates what amounts to genocide. At worst, they are complicit through continued military and economic support for these actions. Meanwhile, the Netanyahu administration has been blocking critical humanitarian aid, including food and medicine, for over two months, despite urgent appeals from the United Nations.

This blatant violation of international law is yet another stark reminder of the need for immediate action to halt the ongoing ethnic cleansing in Gaza and the West Bank.

How much further will the Netanyahu government be allowed to go before the international community intervenes to stop this massacre?

The Libyan Red Crescent (Tripoli Branch) recovered bodies of unidentified migrants washed up on the beach in Tajoura.

Aurora (Sea Watch) helped 160 people in distress.

SOS Humanity rescued 60 people, Sea Watch 105.

700 people reached Lampedusa.

Weekly Report: The most important facts from the Mediterranean

The Internal Security Agency of Libya has allegedly closed the offices of the Norwegian Refugee Council, Terre des Hommes Italia, International Medical Corps, Danish Refugee Council, Médecins Sans Frontières, CARE Germany-Luxemburg, INTERSOS, Acted, and Cesvi claiming that these NGOs were involved in acts that undermined Libya's sovereignty and security and their attempts to settle irregular immigrants in the country.

148 people pushed back to Libya.

53 people rescued from merchant vessel FRIO FROWN.

The Spanish maritime rescue service Salvamento Maritimo has saved the lives of 263 persons traveling aboard five boats to the Canary Islands.

SOS Humanity rescued 90 people.

The Greek coast quard said at least seven bodies have been recovered after a migrant boat sank in the Aegean, off the island of Le**os. Two of those dead are children.

A CHILD ABANDONED IN THE SAHARA DESERT

We share here the video released by Refugeesinlibya: a child was found, alone, walking barefoot in the desert somewhere between and .

He was not protected within the walls of his home, nor in the arms of a parent. But alone, in the middle of the desert. The child in this video has committed no crime. His only fault is that he was born with black skin in the wrong place, at the wrong time. In a world that still judges people by passport, skin colour, and profit. His only crime is being poor in a system designed to wipe out the poor. We do not know his name but we know what brought him there.

His parents may have collapsed exhausted behind him, dehydrated, or driven out or disappeared during the latest mass round-ups and expulsions of black Africans by militias in Libya. Perhaps they were arrested or killed and thrown into mass graves in Gharyan and Sikka. Or perhaps they were left to die, like so many others, in the no man's land that pays to keep invisible. This child, perhaps no more than five years old, with his story represents the collapse of every moral pillar that Libya and Europe claim to respect.

This is not an accident. It is racial discrimination, institutionalised and financed by the same Europe that would like to give the world lessons in human rights.

Weekly Report: The most important facts from the Mediterranean

SOS Humanity and Resqship rescued 60 people, Sea Watch 85.

Sea-Watxh's Aurora rescued 85 people in extreme conditions off Lampedusa before transferring them to the Italian Coastal Guard.

Mediterranea and its activists were spied on by the intelligence services using Paragon Graphite military software because they were considered a "danger to national security." The spying was requested by Gov. Meloni and authorized by the Attorney General at the Rome Court of Appeals, Dr. Amato.

In 2021, after a merchant ship rescued a group of migrants, Italian authorities ordered for them to be handed over to the Libyan Coast Guard. A court in Rome is now holding Italy responsible, granting one migrant the opportunity to apply for protection. However, many of his companions are still in Libya, facing violence and forced labor.

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) in Luxembourg issued a ruling that potentially being exposed to a family blood feud in another country alone was not sufficient grounds for being granted asylum or any other form of protection in Europe. However, the ruling risks clashing with other ECJ judgments on related matters.

In June 2024 we started the second operational phase of the "Mediterranea with " project, with the arrival of the first activists of Mediterranea Saving Humans in the village of At-Tuwani, in , the rural zone south of Al Khalil (Hebron in Hebrew), a region with dozens of villages and a population of about 1200 people, for 50 years of practice, a form of non-violent resistance against the Israeli occupation.

In the summer of 2018, Mediterranea was born out of indignation over the thousands of lives lost in the Mediterranean and the closed-port policy.

Within months, people and associations came together, launching the first civil rescue ship flying the Italian flag.

On the night of 3rd-4th October 2018, exactly 5 years after the tragic Lampedusa shipwreck, Mare Jonio set sail on its first monitoring and rescue mission. Since then, Mediterranea has grown into a Social Promotion Association with active members in over 40 regions.

Today, Mediterranea continues its mission both at sea and on land, with operations along the Balkan route, in Ukraine, and in the West Bank, always standing by the side of those in need.
