On January 14, 2022, Tonga was hit by a massive eruption and tsunami that caused catastrophic damage: Houses were destroyed and many communities were covered with a thick layer of ash. Communication lines were completely disrupted, and the full extent of the damage is still unknown. The country is in urgent need of aid, and we are working with M-Group to provide the people of Tonga with essential

supplies. The helptonga Association (HTA) is a Swiss non-profit organization with the goal of supporting the people of Tonga. HTA can provide immediate and supplementary aid to the people of Tonga in a first phase of assistance. In a second phase, HTA will provide funds for repair and cleaning equipment and building materials. In a third and longer-term phase, HTA will assist small and medium enterprises in Tonga to repair and renew their infrastructure, and fund new infrastructure to increase security of supply (e.g., stand-alone power plants, water desalination, purification, etc.).
