🐢 It was as if we were riding a wave as we overcame all the hurdles of the weekend:

⛈️🌡️ Whether torrential rain or record-breaking heat, tiredness or injuries, uphill or downhill – none of it stopped us from moving energetically through Zurich:

🎶🌈 Glitter, drag and nimble feet at Pride, in the classes and at the parties.

💥 Wow, what a Q***r Swing Dance Exchange we’ve put together with so much energy, passion and creativity.

🤝 This would not have been possible without our sponsors, who have made these safe spaces possible:

Meet DJ lil’roquette / Daniela ✨ Whether behind the DJ booth, on the dance floor, or somewhere in between, Daniela brings energy, musicality, and joy wherever she goes. Since discovering swing music in 2010, she has travelled the world as a dancer, musician and DJ. Her passion for collecting music has already filled several hard drives — and we’re very happy she’ll be sharing some of those treasures with us at QSXZ. Expect a joyful mix of timeless classics, contemporary recordings, and exciting new compositions that will keep you dancing 💥🎶🌈

One Pride weekend but three parties, three themes:
🌼 Friday — Midsummer Fever
Celebrate the longest days of the year with flowers, light colors, summer outfits, and a touch of midsummer magic.
🌈 Saturday — Dress to Express
Be bold, be playful, be elegant, be creative, be extravagant, be sexy. Wear whatever makes you feel most like yourself. Even if this your regular dance outfit or your unicorn pyjamas. 😛
☀️ Sunday — Summer Swing
A relaxed summer celebration to close the weekend. Think linen, sunshine, vintage summer vibes, and your favorite dancing outfit.

Of course, dressing up is completely optional. But if you enjoy themed parties, we’d love to see your interpretation of the themes!
Which one are you most excited for?

Learn our Pride Walking Choreo with David!
Either on Friday, June 19, 20 h flow60 using your weekend or daily pass (get one now if you haven‘t already!).
Or swipe right and study the videos of David and Dima, showing you the whole thing in 4 parts! As a headstart, or if you want to join the Parade separately, but dance along nonetheless.

You’ll find 6 videos in this order:
- Part 1
- Part 2
- Part 1 and 2 combined (turn your phone 😉)
- Part 3
- Part 4
- Part 3 and 4 combined (turn your phone 😉)

Sorry for the landscape videos being turned due to instagram cropping video posts…
Note the direction in which part 3 starts: this is a travelling choreo, so we can walk along with the parade, so part 3 starts in the direction your back is facing – David and Dima had to use the space of the studio for the tutorial 🥹

And that’s it, then you learned the 4 times 4 Eights that make up our Pride Walking Choreo and are ready to join us at the Parade 💛💜🩵🩷🤍🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

We meet Saturday, June 20, at 13 h at Bäckeranlage and take you to the start of the Parade at Bahnhofstrasse.
Or if you want to join directly: Our group nr. 33 will be waiting at the height of Pestalozzi-Wiese in front of the store PKZ, just look out fort he sign with number 33! Parade should start 13.30 h.
We are looking forward to be (swing-)out and proud with you!

We will upload the videos to our website as well for a better view. Link in bio.

Less than 3 weeks. 😱 We are SO excited — and also, honestly, a tiny bit freaking out. 🫶

There’s still a lot to do, and we’ve been preparing, organizing, and discussing non-stop. All for you. We cannot wait.

Good news: there’s still space on the dance floor. So if you’re a spontaneous soul, a last-minute booker, or a „let me just check if I can make it“ — now is your moment. 😈

A quick heads up:
→ Drag Brunch tickets are only available until June 9th
→ Single party tickets are on sale now — grab them fast!

Don’t sleep on it. 🏳️‍🌈

Also: Happy start of month to you!

Meet Phatt D / David ✨
David has been dancing for most of his life and has played an important role in Zurich’s swing community. As co-founder of Tanzwolke, he was among the first to introduce the ELEF concept (Everybody Leads, Everybody Follows) to Zurich, helping create more inclusive and flexible ways of dancing together.
At QSXZ, David will be helping us bring some swing to Zurich Pride! 🌈 He is creating and teaching a short choreography for our Pride group, so we can dance, celebrate, and look fabulous together during the parade.
We’re excited to have him on board and can’t wait to share the dance floor and the streets of Zurich with him!

We are excited to welcome the Chicago Swing Collective! 🎺✨
If you have been dancing in Switzerland over the last few years, chances are you’ve already crossed paths with them. Through their regular performances at the Chicago Bar in Zug, the Chicago Swing Collective has become a familiar and much-loved part of the Swiss swing dance scene.
On Sunday evening, they will bring their energy, groove, and love for swing music to our dance floor. Expect great live music and plenty of dancing. What a wonderful way to close an unforgettable Pride weekend together.
We can’t wait to share the floor with them!

The organizing team in its natural state: waiting, planning, slightly sleep-deprived.
We’ve been organizing this weekend for months, and it’s slowly starting to feel real: this is actually happening soon. While we’re trying to look relaxed, there are approximately 47 tabs open in the background. Still, we’re incredibly excited for June. 🌈 Now we’re just waiting for you!!

Great news! We have one more amazing artist joining our QSXZ line-up: the wonderful Cc. Davies ✨Cc. is a professional tap dancer, jazz and Lindy Hop enthusiast. She teaches and performs both nationally and internationally, sharing a deep love and respect for these Black African American art forms with communities around the world. Cc. also works with BLHF, an organization dedicated to serving communities of African and African diasporic heritage within these art forms.
And the best part: Cc. will be teaching a masterclass at QSXZ 💥
We are incredibly excited to welcome Cc. to Zurich and can’t wait to dance together!
