Seeds, Lausanne (2026)

Active since 2013, Seeds NGO was created in Switzerland with the aim of supporting development projects in poor countries. The targeted projects are individual initiatives, of small size, linked to microfinance, social business and education. Seeds supports these projects through financial help and technical support. The aim of Seeds is also to raise the awareness of the wider public of their capa

city to contribute to solidary initiatives. Seeds' activities were concretized thanks to the financial support of about 300 private donors, close relations of the founders Angela and Cyrille Flichy. Henceforth, Seeds is also present in France and Spain.

Merry Christmas from Seeds NGO 🎄

As the year comes to a close, we are grateful for the progress made together in strengthening livelihoods and building financial resilience across Ugandan communities.

2025 in numbers:

Budifa region: 20 savings and credit groups created, supporting 800 to 1,600 farmers.

Iganga region: 5 groups established and 15 more in progress, set to benefit 400 to 720 people.

🌟 Success Story from the Seeds Community

This is the story of Dorothy Amwatolao, a mother of three from the Nakalama group in Iganga, who established a school and empowered a whole community.

Dorothy's entrepreneurial spirit has led her to achieve impressive achievements; After just two cycles with the Nakalama group, Dorothy rented land and established the Green Sky Junior School in February 2022. ✨

The school now has six classrooms and serves 150 students, offering both pre-primary and primary education. Six dedicated teachers cover subjects such as English, Mathematics, Literature, and Science.

The success of the Green Sky Junior School is reflected not only in its growth but also in the positive impact it has on the community’s children. Dorothy is now starting a new cycle with the Nakalama group, with plans to save enough to buy land and expand her school, providing education to even more children!

Dorothy’s journey shows the real difference that microfinance projects like those from the Nakalama group can make.

🌱 Exciting Success Story, one of many, this is about " Namono Zaina!

Zaina is a shining example of the power of VSLA microfinance projects in Bududa. With a family of seven to support, she seized the opportunity presented by the VSLA. Since joining the Bubiita F.A.L. in 2019, Zaina's journey has been nothing short of inspiring.

With the initial funds accumulated from the first cycle, Zaina ventured into entrepreneurship, opening a small shop specializing in plastic items. With each subsequent cycle, Zaina reinvested her profits, expanding her inventory and customer base.

Today, Zaina's shop stands as a beacon of success, not only becoming a pillar of stability and prosperity for her entire family but also serving as a vital supplier to four surrounding villages.

Zaina's story highlights the role of VSLA microfinance projects in empowering individuals to achieve economic independence. Through access to capital, training, and support, individuals like Zaina are not only building better futures for themselves but also driving positive change within their communities.

Dear Seeds Community,
As we embrace the end of the year, it's time to reflect on the remarkable journey we've had throughout 2023. The Seeds family has achieved many milestones, and we are happy to share our year-end recap with you!

🌿 Seeds Blossoms in Luuka District (April 2023) 🌿
In April, we launched our very first cycle in the Luuka district. Over the past 6 months, we've created 20 Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) groups. These communities have joined the savings journey, learning, growing, and flourishing together. Our dedicated team, along with Peter, Seeds' field coordinator, has been working tirelessly to ensure the seamless ex*****on of the saving process & ensure that every beneficiary receives the support they need.

🌟 Iganga and Bududa Shine (June 2023) 🌟
In June, the Iganga and Bududa projects completed their third phase. The results are to be proud of. Each member achieved an average savings of €225, with Seeds initially providing an average investment of just €16 per member. This incredible self-sufficiency showcases the determination and independence of these groups.

🌦️ Butaleja's Resilience (October 2023) 🌦️
Despite adverse weather conditions, the Butaleja project's second phase successfully concluded in October. The 1200 beneficiaries stayed committed and adapted to challenges by finding alternative routes and meeting times. Their resilience and spirit have been truly inspiring.

🌱🇺🇬 Last Monday marked Uganda's National Day. We want to take this opportunity to remind you of Seeds' inspiring mission and its remarkable impact over the years!

Since 2013, Seeds has been dedicated to various projects, but in recent years, we've focused on expanding Village Saving and Loans Associations (VSLA) in Uganda.

🌍 But what exactly is a VSLA? VSLAs are community-based groups comprised of around 30 members who come together to learn how to manage their savings effectively and wisely. This financial empowerment enables them to secure a better future, meet basic needs like healthcare, education, and housing fees, and improve the quality of life for themselves and their families.

🌟 Seeds' impact has been truly remarkable! Over the years, we've touched the lives of 12,000 direct beneficiaries and more than 72,000 indirect beneficiaries, including their households. We're proud to provide technical and financial support for member training, monitoring, and supervision, ensuring positive change continues.

🌱🇺🇬 In 2023, Seeds has been working on four ongoing projects, each contributing to our mission of positively impacting and expanding our reach within Ugandan communities mostly living under the poverty line.
