Responding to the Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed’s call for $1 a day to support critical unmet needs in Ethiopia and in support of his message of love, forgiveness, reconciliation, unity and peace, the global Ethiopian Diaspora has enthusiastically accepted his challenge and is ready, willing and able to mobilize and coordinate resources to support vital unmet inclusive economic and social development projects in Ethiopia.
The Ethiopian Diaspora Trust Fund Geneva Chapter is a group of Ethiopian volunteers in Geneva, friends and supporters of the Ethiopian Diaspora Trust Fund (EDTF). EDTF is a non-profit organization working in coordination with the Ethiopian government to directly involve diaspora Ethiopians from all walks of life in improving the lives of the Ethiopian people by raising funds for vital socio-economic projects in Ethiopia.
Founded on the 23rd of February 2019, our chapter in Geneva has been approved by the EDTF Advisory Board and is committed to be guided by the EDTF Terms of Reference and its guiding principles of inclusiveness, transparency and accountability.
What the Geneva Chapter Does
+ Keep a list of members who have contributed to the EDTF;
+ Encourage members who have not contributed to make contributions;
+ Assist members who have difficulty using the contributions page to make donations;
+ Reach out to our Advisory Council contact if members, either contributors or non-contributors, have questions or concerns about the EDTF that we are not able to answer;
+ Regularly review the EDTF detailed Contributions table/map to assess the level of EDTF Contributors and Contributions in and from Geneva and discuss it with our Group members; and
+ Plan an Annual EDTF Fund Raising Event along with similar Chapters in Switzerland and contact our Advisory Council about its organization and support.
Coordination Committee Members
The following Committee Members have been elected by the constituent assembly on 23rd February 2019 through a secret paper ballot voting method:
