Explore Twenty Silents Songs at Homo Faber 2026

Twenty Silent Songs features a series of 20 rectangular panels, each meticulously crafted to frame a circular aperture, inspired by the unique vibrations produced by the sound of a bell. This collaborative masterpiece brought to life by 20 international craft artists and ateliers, each specialising in a distinct discipline – from leather sculpting and stained glass to embroidery and featherwork. Together, these patterned circles beautifully illustrate the shared inspirations and universal connections that unite artisans across the globe.

Inside the wonder of A Luminous Ark

In the ambulacrum of the Palladian Refectory, encounter A Luminous Ark, a suspended installation of paper sculptures based on Es Devlin’s drawings of Venetian fauna. Created by Chinese artist Wen Qiuwen 温秋雯wen qiuwen , kestrels, egrets and herons hang in the air, illuminated like lanterns in tribute to Venice and the delicate translucency of paper.

Drawn to water, light and inspiration: A Full Moon Rising

Inspired by the beauty and simplicity of the Korean moon jar, and elevated by the elegance of the moon itself, A Full Moon Rising centres on a semi-circular structure displaying a selection of moon jar-inspired vessels and water carriers, handcrafted in ceramic, paper, glass, metal and other materials by artisans from around the world. As described by Young Ambassador Ghada, the structure is beautifully lit and reflected in the water of a 1960s swimming pool, rising above its own reflection and revealing symbiotic elements and intricate details.

A Rooted Ascent pays homage to organic materials born of sunlight and the earth’s rich soil. The space is divided by a tiered cork structure: one side showcasing objects made from different woods, the other highlighting pieces woven from natural materials such as wicker, willow and rush. discover how these materials inspire makers by meeting woodworkers and weavers working live in the room.

Light as a living language of creative power

Listen as a visitor discovers An Alphabet of Objects, an immersive installation of over 200 works on a rotating kinetic structure, with backlighting casting their silhouettes onto surrounding walls, forming shadow sculptures that recall ancient symbols or cave paintings. Chosen for their intricate silhouettes, their earthy tones and the way they interact with light, the objects – inviting visitors to pause and witness the play between light and shade, vision and perception.
