The UN Ocean Conference in Nice, France, concluded on Friday with countries committing to urgent, science-based action to safeguard and sustainably use our seas.
Amid mounting threats from climate change and human activity, the agreement includes concrete steps to expand marine protected areas, decarbonize shipping, tackle pollution, support vulnerable coastal and island nations, and other critical efforts.
