Menstrual Hygiene Day, a day created to emphasize awareness on the importance of good menstrual hygiene on all levels. A day that emphasizes the importance of solidarity when it comes to solving menstruation-related challenges together.

Menstrual Health, Hygiene, and Management need is a movement. It has to start at the smallest of our societies and communities. Education, support, healthcare etc. are areas we need to focus on to ensure that we move toward a

We cannot do this alone. And so today, and everyday, we urge you to plug in where you can. Learn where you can, ask questions, read, educate.

Menstruation is, in simple terms, the shedding of the uterus lining. Menstruation typically begins at the onset of puberty. Menstruation is normal.

Knowledge on what the female reproductive system looks like and what bodily functions take place for it to happen, should be basic education. It’s important that a menstruator knows what is doing what function in their body. This is how we’re able to identify when something abnormal occurs. When pain is too painful, or recurring missed cycles happen.

Today we ask that you observe your body, learn it, and pick up on those things that you might think are abnormal when it comes to your cycle. Seek medical advice where you can. Your health is important.

If there’s one thing we’ve learnt as Wezesha Binti, is that there is power in sharing your story and your experiences.

So many menstruators go through life experiencing their cycles in silence not knowing that there’s others out there who go through what they do. Be it the harrowing pain, the irregular period, the hormonal roller coaster, the body changes etc.
By sharing stories and experiences, we’ve come to learn that sometimes, there’s no singular experience. 🌸

There’s beauty in community, there’s beauty in sharing. If you would like to share your period story, please feel free to reach out to us, we’d love to hear it✨

The Cheetah Girls sang a song that has lyrics to the effect of “for we are sisters,we stand together,we make up one big family though we don’t look the same, we make each other stronger, that’s never going to change”. We believe that sisterhood and womanhood are key to surviving menstruation. Bintihood gives you community, it gives you comfort, it gives you strength. Bintihood give’s you people to laugh and cry with, to celebrate and experience all that life has to offer together.✨

Who makes up your bintihood and what are the best parts of it for you?🌸

Our Binti Tales:An Affirmation Deck encompasses the spirit of Bintihood and you should definitely check out the link in our bio to learn more about it🌼

In adulthood we’ve come to learn that everyone takes on a different approach to rest and it looks different to different people. Something else that we’ve come to learn is that it is super important to allow yourself to rest and to actively seek it.

What does rest look like to you?🌸

Let’s talk diet and appetite🌸

What are foods that you tend to gravitate toward nearing your period? Have you found that you crave specific things around different stages of your cycle? What are some food practices you have for your period?

Diet can play a role in how we feel when on our periods or on the different phases of our cycles. It can affect our energy levels and decrease vitamin deficiency. It also just keeps us healthy overall.

Have you noticed a change in your cycle when you are more conscious about what foods you eat at the different stages? ✨
