I am always inspired by scriptures that describe, in a remarkable way, the times in which we presently live.

“And in that day shall be heard of wars and rumors of wars, and the whole earth shall be in commotion, and men’s hearts shall fail them, … and the love of men shall wax cold, and iniquity shall abound” (Doctrine and Covenants 45:26–27).

One of the words that stands out to me in verse 26 is “commotion,” which is synonymous with disturbance, uproar, turmoil, disorder, confusion, upheaval, unrest, and disruption. Surely, we are witnesses almost every day to increasing commotion around the world.

Where can we find peace and reassurance amidst all the commotion?

The Book of Mormon.

We are not the only people to live in troubled times. I testify that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and was written for our day. It is the source of assurance and peace in our troubled latter days.

As you take time to study the Book of Mormon, I promise you will notice an increased measure of peace in your lives.

How has studying the Book of Mormon brought you peace?

On this glorious Easter Sunday, we celebrate the most long-awaited and glorious event in the history of the world. This is the day that changed my life, your life, and the lives of all God’s children.

My heart grieves for the painful loneliness and wearisome fears you may be experiencing at this time. However, because of the sacrifice of our beloved Redeemer, death has no sting, the grave has no victory, wrongs will be made right, and Satan has no lasting power.

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Psalm 30:5).

Christ’s perfect, deep, and everlasting love gives us the confidence to press through our fears. Because of His glorious Resurrection, we can place our complete trust in Him, even through the most trying times.

“God is our refuge and strength” (Psalm 46:1).

“Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

Écouté la voix de prophète

On this Easter Sunday, my thoughts have lingered on one of the last moments of the Savior’s mortal ministry. As He was being crucified on Calvary’s cross, the Redeemer of all mankind uttered these timeless words:

“Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34).

How was it possible in His time of unfathomable agony for Jesus Christ to ask His Father to forgive His tormentors?

And yet, on the cross, Jesus did exactly that. He practiced what He had preached. He taught us to love our enemies, to do good to those who hate us, and even to pray for those who despitefully use us.

Every Easter, we rejoice in the Resurrection of the Savior Jesus Christ, the epitome of forgiveness. My dear friends, I invite you to prayerfully consider if there is someone whom you should forgive or someone from whom you should seek forgiveness.

Will you free yourself from hard feelings you may be harboring? I promise that as you forgive or seek forgiveness, the Savior will relieve you of anger, resentment, and pain. The Prince of Peace will bring you peace.

Jesus Christ is risen! He loves you! And , you can experience the joy and miracle of forgiveness.
