Easter reminds us of Jesus Christ's sacrifice to die for us and the importance of coming together, supporting one another, and looking forward to brighter days ahead. We can’t help but think of the message in the song “Because He Lives, I can face tomorrow.” Happy Easter!

Our 5-year WaSH strategy has been officially launched. During the launch, Emmanuel Makafu, our Manager of Program Support, reminded us of John 4, where our Lord's conversation mirrors many today who find themselves seeking water in challenging contexts across Uganda and beyond. The launch was officiated by our National Director Emmanuel Ahimbisibwe during the all-staff engagement week.

Joining Hands for Karamoja Development
Last week, we welcomed key stakeholders to our premises for the Karamoja Conference, bringing together umbrella church leaders, Church-Facing Teams, Frontline Church Partner representatives, and members of our National Leadership Team. Held under the theme “Joining Hands for Karamoja Development,” the two-day engagement created a platform to strengthen collaboration, share learning, celebrate progress, and align on practical, context-driven solutions for the region. Over the past six years, Compassion’s presence in Karamoja has grown from 7 Frontline Church Partners in 2019 to 34 today. This progress reflects the strength of partnerships and a shared commitment to serving children and communities with purpose.

While celebrating these milestones, the conference also highlighted the continued need to address barriers affecting children’s well-being and development. Our National Director, Emmanuel Ahimbisibwe, emphasized in his remarks that, “We thank God for His faithfulness over the past six years… Even so, more remains to be done. Many children still face barriers that limit their ability to realize their full God-given potential”. Government efforts have laid a firm foundation, but lasting transformation requires all of us. Karamoja’s context requires sustained, collaborative action, and long-term impact will depend on strong partnerships between the Church, government, and other stakeholders. We continue working toward a future where every child in Karamoja can thrive and is known, loved, and protected.

Our Participants’ 2025 UACE Results: More than 3 in 4 participants qualified for university 🎊

On 13th March 2026, the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) released the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate Examination (UACE) results, in which 904 of our participants from 220 Frontline Church Partners(FCPs) sat the November–December 2025 examinations. Among our 904 participants, 50.8 percent (459 participants) earned all three principal passes, compared to the national figure of 41.7%. A further 26.3% earned two principal passes, closely matching the national rate. In total, 77.1% of our participants qualified for university admission, significantly above the national average of 68.6%.

These results affirm that our participants are not only staying in school but also thriving academically, despite the challenges they face. We celebrate our three participants who excelled and achieved the maximum score of 20 points, representing outstanding academic excellence and personal resilience. They are powerful testimonies that show how holistic care can achieve real impact.

We are grateful to our donors, sponsors, and supporters, whose prayers and investments directly contribute to higher retention, stronger academic outcomes, and life-changing opportunities for young people who would otherwise be left behind.

DEAR Day 2026 | Drop Everything And Read

Today, we join the world in celebrating DEAR(Drop Everything And Read) Day. Through our Reading Activity Intervention, more than 6,000 children across 50 church partner projects are strengthening their literacy skills through guided reading sessions, phonics instruction, spelling practice, and comprehension exercises. An additional 126 projects were equipped in February 2026 to expand this effort and reach even more children. This intervention focuses on improving articulation, pronunciation, and comprehension, helping children understand what they read and communicate with confidence. Many participants are now performing better in school and developing a stronger love for learning.

Reading opens doors. Through literacy, children gain the tools to pursue education and build a future, releasing them from poverty in Jesus' name.
