Yolé!Africa is a centre of art, creativity and cultural exchange with locations in Goma, Eastern DRCongo and Kampala, Uganda.

Yole!Africa's mission is to promote peace through art and culture as well as to operate as a platform for exchange where young people from different backgrounds and social status can come together to express themselves through their talents It was founded in 2000 by Congolese filmmaker, Petna Ndaliko and Dutch anthropologist Ellen Lammers. Yolé!Africa is neither a political nor a denominational organization, through its programs it promotes and encourages value and respect for all human beings (regardless of race, origin, religion, ethnicity, gender, language, or economic status), and stands against all forms of exploitation or violation of human rights. The organization seeks to promote and encourage art. It supports artists and offers them a place conducive to creativity. It also wants to link the community and its artists to strengthen the common culture and identity. Through training, workshops and community events, it promotes dialogue and respect for others and wants to generate, through debate and reflection on current social and political issues, the awareness that everyone is an actor of his/her life and of the society in which he/she lives and has the right and duty to make of it a better place.

Nell’ambito del progetto ARCA – Arte Rigenerazioni Comunità Abitare 2026, il Comune di Tornimparte vi invita alla proiezione del film “TREE PRAY – Basandja, Restorative Justice”, del regista Petna Ndaliko Katondolo.

Un’occasione per avvicinarci, attraverso il linguaggio del cinema, a temi profondi e attuali: il rapporto tra uomo e natura, la memoria, la giustizia riparativa e il valore delle comunità.

Notre cercle d'échange communautaire a eu le privilège d'entendre des mères de notre communauté autour du thème : « L’initiation à l’apprentissage du métier de l’enfant : entre transmission, responsabilité parentale ; Regards croisés sur les pratiques ancestrales africaines et les réalités actuelles en RDC. »

Avec sagesse, les mamans ont partagé leurs points de vue sur l'équilibre délicat entre la transmission des savoirs traditionnels et l'adaptation aux défis actuels.

Elles ont souligné l'importance de la responsabilité parentale dans l'orientation professionnelle dès le plus jeune âge, Leurs témoignages ont mis en lumière le rôle central des femmes dans la préservation de nos valeurs face à l'évolution de la société congolaise.

Our community discussion group had the privilege of hearing from mothers in our community on the topic: “Introducing Children to a Trade: Between Knowledge Transmission and Parental Responsibility; Comparing Perspectives on Ancestral African Practices and Current Realities in the DRC.”

With wisdom, the mothers shared their perspectives on the delicate balance between passing down traditional knowledge and adapting to today’s challenges.

They emphasized the importance of parental responsibility in guiding children’s career paths from a very young age. Their testimonies highlighted the central role of women in preserving our values in the face of changes in Congolese society.

🌍 : Ancrer l’organisation féministe dans l’Ubuntu, depuis le bassin du Congo

Du 11 au 18 septembre 2026, l’Afro-IFOS a réuni au Kenya des féministes de base africaines, afrodescendantes, noires et autochtones, ainsi que des militantes des Amériques.

Organisée par la Marche mondiale des femmes Kenyan et la Grassroots Global Justice Alliance

Avec la Coalition Basandja, Yolé!Africa a partagé son expérience depuis la RDC autour de Land, Dignity, Care and Collective Power.

Nous avons partagé l’Ubuntu comme une véritable infrastructure politique : reconnaître les communautés comme détentrices de savoirs et de pouvoir.
Relier le soin de la terre, le soin des corps et le soin des récits.
Faire de la participation réelle un levier de souveraineté sur les territoires, les ressources et les mémoires.

2026 nous rappelle que nos luttes sont liées, et que notre pouvoir se construit collectivement.

?? : Grounding Feminist Organizing in Ubuntu, from the Congo Basin

From September 11 to 18, 2026, Afro-IFOS brought together grassroots African, Afro-descendant, Black, and Indigenous feminists, as well as activists from the Americas, in Kenya.

Organized by the Kenyan World March of Women and the Grassroots Global Justice Alliance

Together with the Basandja Coalition, Yolé!Africa shared its experience from the DRC on Land, Dignity, Care, and Collective Power.

We shared Ubuntu as a true political infrastructure: recognizing communities as holders of knowledge and power.
Connecting the care of the land, the care of bodies, and the care of stories.
Making genuine participation a lever for sovereignty over territories, resources, and memories.

Afro-IFOS 2026 reminds us that our struggles are interconnected, and that our power is built collectively.
