Women’s Transformation Association (WTA) is a grassroots National Non-Governmental Organization that works to improve lives of less privileged Congolese and to promote Rural Health Services in Goma District of Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa. It was established in 2005 and registered in 2006 by Goma District Local Government of Democratic Republic of Congo and Goma Municipal Council Local Gov
ernment of DR Congo as Community Based Organisation (CBO). Our focus is on supporting and facilitating communities realize quality and basic education for children, improved community livelihood and women empowerment. We believe in the power of grassroots communities and the people to positively change their lives and communities. We do not work for the community rather we work with communities to realize their development. We work as a catalyst by challenging their beliefs and attitudes which are hindrances to achieving their desired tomorrow. We challenge them to recognize their potentials as such available resources and opportunities which they seize to prosper. In everything we do we require their meaningful participation right from conceiving ideas to contributing resources required to realize preferred ends. Women’s Transformation Association (WTA) is comprised by General Assembly of 260 members and Executive Committee/Board. The General Assembly is the supreme governing board which makes all the policies that governs Women’s Transformation Association (WTA) and the Board/Executive Committee are 7 members elected specially to implement all polices that have been made by the General Assembly. Staff: Women’s Transformation Association (WTA) has 5 staff members that run day today work and these are; The Executive Director, Program Coordinator, Financial Accountant, 2 Field officer.
