HATD Self Business for youths economic and Financial independance/ GOMA/ DRC /2026.

With the funding support from Hope & Future for a Child , first of all HATD implemented an income-generating initiative aimed at establishing a modern hair salon in Goma as a self-business opportunity for vulnerable and unemployed youths. The initiative was designed to promote youth economic empowerment, skills development, self-reliance, and sustainable employment.

The investment covered the rental of the business premises, acquisition of professional hairdressing equipment and furniture, installation of electricity, purchase of hygiene and hair-care products, and acquisition of materials for resale. The initiative is expected to contribute to the creation of 10 direct and indirect employment opportunities while providing affordable and quality hairdressing services to the local community.

And secondly HATD implemented an economic empowerment initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable girls in Goma through the establishment of a small tailoring business. The activity was designed to provide the girls with practical means of generating income, developing their entrepreneurial skills, improving their economic independence, and strengthening their resilience.

Program: Healing session on behalf of young people from churches for empowering them to be resilient and build success full families in next generation by trusting God in all details of life in Eastern Congo. D R Congo.
HATD- ACE Overcomers organized on 7th June 2026 a healing session with youths from various churches was truly impactful, with over 40 participants in attendance. The session has laid a strong foundation for growth, and follow-ups will be guided by ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) scores to ensure targeted support. Through initiatives like this, we are actively building strong, successful families with this generation.

Conférence débat/ session de guérison de traumatisme organisée par HATD:
Plus de 130 jeunes chrétiens ont participé en date du 26 Avril 2026 à une activité de prévention de violences dans la communauté pour la construction des familles qui réunissent dans la résilience avec une bonne santé mentale, physique et spirituelle.

‎ HATD a participé du 07 au 08 avril 2026 à une formation organisée par Handicap International, portant sur l’inclusion dans l’action humanitaire et l’amélioration des outils de collecte de données.
‎
‎Cette formation a permis de renforcer les compétences sur :
‎•L’intégration des personnes en situation de handicap dans nos interventions
‎•L’utilisation des outils adaptés, notamment les questions du Washington Group
‎•L’importance de collecter des données inclusives pour mieux répondre aux besoins des populations
‎
‎Bien que l’utilisation des questions du Washington Group ne soit pas obligatoire dans tous les projets, elles demeurent un outil pertinent pour garantir une meilleure prise en compte des personnes vivant avec Handicap .
‎
‎👉 HATD réaffirme ainsi son engagement à promouvoir une action humanitaire inclusive, équitable et respectueuse de la dignité de tous.

HATD MESSAGE OF COMPASSION AND SOLIDARITY
Following the Fire at Masisi General Reference Hospital
We are deeply saddened and profoundly concerned by the tragic fire that completely destroyed the Masisi General Reference Hospital, which broke out on Monday at around 11:00 p.m.
This devastating incident has struck a vital health facility that served thousands of people in the Masisi territory and surrounding areas. The loss of the hospital represents not only the destruction of infrastructure, medical equipment, and supplies, but also a serious blow to access to healthcare for an already vulnerable population.
We extend our heartfelt compassion to the patients, their families, the medical and administrative staff, and the entire Masisi community affected by this tragedy. We express our solidarity with all those who have suffered losses and trauma as a result of this fire.
In this moment of great need, we call upon humanitarian organizations, government authorities, partners, and all people of goodwill to mobilize emergency assistance to support the victims, restore essential health services, and contribute to the rapid reconstruction of this critical hospital.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Masisi. We stand united in compassion, solidarity, and commitment to ensuring that access to healthcare is restored as soon as possible.

Ce 25 décembre, HATDa partagé un moment inoubliable avec les enfants de son programme Hope Center à Goma. Grâce à votre générosité, ces enfants, souvent marqués par la précarité, la guerre ou l’abandon, ont pu vivre un Noël rempli d’amour, de repas chaud, de rires et de jeux.

On December 25th, HATD celebrated a heartwarming Christmas with the children of our Hope Center in Goma. Thanks to your incredible generosity, these children many of whom have endured hardship, conflict, or abandonment were able to enjoy a day filled with warm meals, gifts, laughter, and love.

💬 L'autonomisation des femmes ne se limite pas à leur donner de l'argent. C'est leur donner les moyens d’agir, de décider, de bâtir une vie meilleure.

Chez HATD, nous croyons fermement que la dignité passe par les compétences. À Minova dans un contexte post-crise où les femmes ont souvent été réduites au silence ou à la dépendance, nous avons mis en place un programme de formation en coupe et couture au bénéfice des femmes vulnérables.

✂️ Grâce à cette formation :
- Des femmes acquièrent des compétences techniques recherchées,
- Elles deviennent actrices économiques de leur communauté,
- Elles reprennent confiance en elles et en leur potentiel.

💪 Ce n’est pas seulement une formation, c’est une transformation. Une manière de résister à la pauvreté, de refuser l’assistanat, et de bâtir des parcours de résilience.

👉 L’autonomisation, c’est former aujourd’hui pour que ces femmes puissent se prendre en charge demain.
