PIN maintains assistance to people who are in need caused by disasters and war through providing local development, civil society and principles of good governance. Our main aim is to combat global poverty and ignorance. We help people to preserve and assert their freedom and disassociate from any kind of discrimination by advocating the principles of human rights, freedom and peace to establish a
n open-minded environment. However, PIN is actively involved in developing projects in the Czech Republic and across Europe. Our idea is to promote the issue of human solidarity and share responsibility to social matters. PIN's educational programs help to raise awareness and teach people about current issues happening in the world around them. One World in Schools is one of PIN's education programs whose mission is to provide schools with documentaries supplimental educational materials to help teach children about the current issues of the contemporary world. The Migration Awareness Program was another educational program created by PIN in order to provide the public with unbiased information about immigration and migration in the Czech Republic in order to combat common stereotypes and promote a peaceful coexistence between immigrants and the majority. The Variants Educational Program has existed for over ten years and offers informational services and support with Intercultural and Global Development Education. In 2003, People in Need established Development Awareness. This program was created in order to raise awareness about the developing world, international development cooperation and the globalization agenda. Since 1999, PIN has provided social services to over sixty towns in the Czech Republic and Slovakia through a number of experts and over two hundred volunteers. This primary program was diversified with the creation of PIN's Social Integration Programs formed in 2006. One of the main goals of the program is to provide assistance to struggling families until they are able to function as a cohesive unit and solve their problems on their own. Additionally, field workers are focused on eliminating factors that put stress on families such as unemployment, inadequate housing, and debt. For fifteen years in a row, PIN has organized the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival. The Festival sheds light on topics such as the protection of the enviornment, migration, or the life of minorities. These films are seen by over one hundred thousand people every year and bring attention to crucial issues in the modern world. Milestones
