Fundamental greetings from the entire student community. I write on behalf of the entire student body and we hope this letter finds you well.
With great joy in our hearts, we appreciate the selfless acts of some NGO's and philanthropists who has taken it up as a burden to single handedly sponsor a couple of students into the university through the Joint Administration Matriculation Board (JAMB). It is an action worth giving an award and emulating. But more is needed!
The situation of the economy has left many businesses paralyzed and many feeding from hand to mouth and as such, many students (already in the university) finds it difficult to feed, pay for their school fees and other essential study equipments which has led them getting involved in uncivilized acts such as; getting involved in fraudulent activities like Yahoo, prostitution (hookup), theft, cultism (for bullying) and many other criminal activities and some dropping out.
The big question is, after getting the free JAMB slot, who will pay for the schooling fees?
I believe the above question resonates well with the nature of the economy and the importance of the student community.
We humbly wish and request that more attention should be given to the less privileged students already in the university who are finding it difficult to survive and study in the university than bringing in new ones to continue the rat race. We believe that a little organized community is far better than a multitude of unorganized individuals.
We need more philanthropist like Unubiko foundation, who just offered N300 Million scholarship to Nigerian students and other foundations who have been doing this.
Our motto states "Education is right not a privilege, scholarship is more important to the student community now than ever!
We sincerely hope that our plea will be listened too and amendments made.
Thanks so much for your unwavering supports and dedication to the student community.
Yours faithfully
