I’m really grateful for the relationship Two Row has built with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority.

For us, this project is about much more than planting trees. Our relationship with the land and water is an important part of who we are as Indigenous people, and being invited to bring Indigenous voices and perspectives into this work has been very meaningful.

What I appreciate most about this partnership is that it has been about building a genuine relationship. We’ve been able to get out on the land together, participate in cleanups and plantings, and create opportunities for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to work alongside one another.

That, to us, is reconciliation in action.

There’s also something really special about planting a tree knowing we may never sit beneath it when it reaches its full size — but somebody will. Our children will. Our grandchildren will.

We take care of the land today because we have a responsibility to the generations coming after us.

🧡 SEPTEMBER — A MONTH OF TRUTH & RECONCILIATION 🧡

As we enter September, we ask everyone across Oxford County to take some time to reflect on Truth & Reconciliation and what it truly means to you.

Truth comes first.

It means learning the history of residential schools and the truths Indigenous peoples have carried for generations. It means listening to Survivors, learning about the ongoing impacts of colonialism, and recognizing that reconciliation requires more than acknowledging one day on the calendar.

It requires learning, listening, conversations and action.

This September, Two Row Creeations has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County to help bring those conversations into our community.

🧡🩵 And we want to see what YOU have created!

Businesses, organizations, schools and community spaces — show us your teal & orange storefronts, windows, displays and spaces throughout September.

Send us your pictures or tag us so we can share how Oxford County is coming together and creating conversations around Truth & Reconciliation.

And while you’re creating your displays, take a moment to ask yourself:

What does Truth & Reconciliation mean to me?
What have I learned?
And what can I do to move reconciliation forward?

Because reconciliation isn’t just something we talk about on September 30th.

It’s something we all have a role in, every day.

🧡 From the bottom of my heart, Miigwetch .

A few people have reached out asking how they can donate or help support the centre, and I honestly can’t explain how much that means to me.

This centre is fully funded by us, because we believed so deeply that Oxford County needed this space. So when someone offers to help, it reminds me that we aren’t the only ones who believe in what we’re building here. 🧡

Every little bit helps keep our doors open and our programs, ceremonies and community work going.

If you would like to support the centre:

🧡 E-transfer: [email protected]
🧡 In-kind donations are always welcome
🧡 We also have a donation box at the centre

Even sharing our posts and showing up means more than you know.

Hai Hai Miigwetch for believing in this space with us. 🧡

🧡 OXFORD COUNTY — WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🧡

Our 2nd Annual Truth & Reconciliation March is coming up, and we are calling on our entire Oxford County community to help us make this important day possible.

Last year, hundreds of people came together. This year, we want to make the day even bigger and more impactful — but we cannot do it without community support.

Right now, we need:

SPONSORS — OUR BIGGEST NEED
We urgently need businesses, organizations and community partners to help sponsor the march. Sponsorship helps us cover the costs of bringing Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers, speakers, dancers, women’s and men’s drum groups, activities and more to our community.

SILENT AUCTION DONATIONS
Our online silent auction will be going LIVE soon! We are looking for donations from local businesses and community members — gift cards, products, services, experiences, gift baskets and more. Every donation helps support the cost of the march.

VENDORS — INDIGENOUS & NON-INDIGENOUS WELCOME
We are welcoming Indigenous artists, makers and businesses, as well as non-Indigenous local vendors and small businesses who want to come out, support the day and walk alongside our community in reconciliation.

COMMUNITY RESOURCE TABLES
We are looking for local organizations, agencies, nonprofits, service providers and community groups to set up resource tables, connect with families and share the supports available throughout Oxford County.

LOCAL BUSINESSES TABLES — WE NEED YOU TOO!
Even if you cannot attend the march, there are so many ways to help — become a sponsor, donate to our silent auction, share our event, encourage your staff to attend or help us spread the word.

Truth and Reconciliation is not something Indigenous people can carry alone.

Reconciliation requires all of us. It happens when communities show up, listen, learn, build relationships and take meaningful action.

📅 Sunday, September 27, 2026
⏰ 12 PM – 5PM
📍 Museum Square, Woodstock

If you can sponsor, donate, become a vendor, host a resource table, volunteer or help in another way, please reach out to Two Row Culture & Community Center.

🧡 Oxford County, help us make this happen.

Even if you cannot contribute financially, sharing this post could connect us with someone who can.

PLEASE SHARE throughout Oxford County! 🧡
