Arthur
2 year old male corgi
Arthur is a fellow who recently came to me from a shelter because to be frank, he’s a typical backyard breeder type corgi with minimal training. He was surrendered to them for biting a child. No other details on that, but he’s been here with limited issues for a bit now.
I want to reiterate that Arthur has very little training and really isn’t a bad dude, but the fact he was an adult intact corgi male with limited training really is not in his favour.
He needs a herding breed experienced home no exceptions, and he must go to a training class.
Arthur is a very high energy individual. He can make a little strange with strange men. He is also not super fond of small children, but he takes correction well. I assume he was bothered by one. He needs to go to a home with NO CHILDREN.
Arthur is fine with other dogs, but not male dogs
since for some reason this fine specimen wasn’t neutered at an appropriate age before hormones really kicked in. Therefore, he has some hormone related behaviours that may or may not subside. If they don’t, they will require management and training. Arthur cannot go to a home with another male dog.
Arthur is a typical ranchy type backyard breeder corgi temperament wise, and he has some issues that have been created likely due to temperament and lack of training that will also require management. Arthur isn’t a velociraptor but he’s not a friendly cuddly kitten either.
Arthur is not a bad dog, but he needs to go to someone that understands the breed and is willing to put in some training and management to ensure his future success.
Arthur is in Langton, ON
Not cat tested
He’s now neutered and fully vetted
So to recap:
Arthur needs a home who is corgi savvy, no small children, no other male dogs, with a fenced yard.
Please stop buying corgis from people that are not reputable. Dogs like Arthur deserves better. If there wasn’t such a demand for this breed now, Arthur likely wouldn’t have been created in the first place. The breed deserves better.
