Our last IBA Recap of the season is live!
On September 25 we spent the afternoon picking up fishing debris and other garbage from the Red River Shoreline in Lockport. This is important work, as fishing line can pose serious risks to birds and other wildlife. Removing this debris from the shoreline helps prevent it from ending up downstream: along the Red River corridor, into the Netley-Libau Marsh, Lake Winnipeg, and beyond ๐๐ฃ
While picking up garbage along the shoreline we were treated to up close and personal views of the large groups of American White Pelicans and Double-crested Cormorants fishing on the river. Head to the link in our bio to read the full recap on our blog๐ฆ๐ฆข
A huge thank you to the volunteers who joined the IBA staff to make a difference along the shoreline! Catch you at the next IBA Event!
