⚖️ SPECIAL GUEST: HUMAIRA JALEEL

Interested in pursuing a career in law? ⚖️

We’re excited to welcome Humaira Jaleel as a special guest at this Saturday’s MMPA Summer Networking Mixer!

Humaira Jaleel is a lawyer, entrepreneur, and community leader who has spent her career building bridges between the justice system and the communities most often left out of it.

Called to the Manitoba Bar in January 2026, Humaira is the founder and principal lawyer of Humaira Jaleel Law Corporation, a firm built on the belief that access to justice should be culturally informed. Her practice spans family law, immigration law, corporate and charity law, and Islamic wills. She approaches every file with a culturally responsive, trauma-informed lens, recognizing that the law is most effective when it meets people where they are.

Her contributions to the profession were recognized in 2025 with the Royal Society of Canada’s Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella Prize.

Long before becoming a lawyer, Humaira was already building institutions. With over 18 years in community service, including leadership roles with the ICNA Sisters, Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute and Bilal Community Centre, she saw firsthand the gaps facing immigrant and refugee families navigating unfamiliar systems. That experience led her to found Healthy Muslim Families in 2020, a non-profit she now leads as Executive Director.

At the mixer, Humaira is keen to share her journey and insights on the process of becoming a lawyer — from navigating the path to law school and the profession to building a career grounded in service to the community.

Come meet Humaira, hear her story, and ask questions about pursuing a career in law!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for MMPA’s Spring Networking Mixer this weekend. It was incredible to see such a strong gathering of Muslim professionals coming together to connect, share, and build community.

From familiar faces to first-time attendees, the energy in the room reflected exactly what MMPA is all about, meaningful connections, collaboration, and giving back. As we mark one year of networking mixers, this event was a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come and how much more we can build together.

A special thank you to our sponsor, Jesse Reitberger of Halal Insurance, for helping make this event possible. We hope the attendees were able to connect with Halal Insurance to explore what proper financial planning can do for them or their business. Thank you as well to all of our attendees who continue to show up and invest in this community. We appreciate your support.

We’re just getting started, inshaAllah.

Stay tuned for what’s next.
