We're pointing the spotlight this week at past-chair, Kevin Dickson. Kevin was instramental at getting the residents group started. He was the person that stepped forward to do all the inital leg work. Thanks Kevin!!!

Our family has lived here in Southdale since 1968 - currently 3 generations ( soon to be 4). As you can imagine I have seen a huge change in the area over the years.

Favorite thing about Southdale: The maturity of the neighborhood - so pretty seeing the Colorado Blues after a sprinkling of snow, the lakes and close proximity to pretty much anything you need.

What do you do in your free time - what free time - lol. Seriously, I like to do workwoorking although limited by not having a heated garage. Renovation projects my kids seem to add to my list. Soon to have another Grandbaby to spoil.

I was one of the original members and instrumental in getting the Southdale Residents Group off the ground. Initially I was the chair for 2 years, but have now moved into a Director at Large position as I am a believer in leadership changes as it brings new and fresh ideas to the group.

How long you've lived in Southdale: Most of my life

Favourite thing about Southdale: proximity to grocery stores, other amenities and my friends and family.

What do you do in your free time?: Chasing my kiddo to her sports, taking care of our newer babe and walking our dog.

What is your personal goal for the SRG in 2026: Continue to build awareness about our organization.

We're helping collect food and essential toiletries for St. Boniface Street Links. Please bring donations to Southdale Community Centre. Our donation bin is in the main entrance area near the vending machines.

Our community clean up is planned for next weekend. Please join us!

You've likely seen all the garbage out there. You likely didn't put it there, but we can all help take it away.

We will have some pickers, gloves and bags to loan out. If you have your own, please bring them.

We've lived in Southdale for almost 13 years but we bought from my in-laws who came here in 2007.

Favourite thing about Southdale: we love the proximity to everything and the maturity of the neighborhood with so much water and wildlife. Deer are in our yard regularly.

What do you do in your free time? Lately it's about my son's volleyball and his school but I also love a good audiobook (muktitasker) and have rediscovered a love of LEGO.

What is your personal goal for the SRG in 2026 - growing our presence and enhancing life for everyone in our community.
