The volunteer watched from a distance as the dogs ate hungrily...eating up the kibble spread on the ground and not stopping till it was all gone. The rescuer was certain a silent thank you was carried back on the wind as the thin dogs gave a last stare back at her before running off; with food in their belly, they will last another day.
Did you know Food Donations are what allows us to do what we do and help those wayward animals get the nourishment they need? With enough such community support, we hope that this buys us time until fosters can be found. This is critical because once we have fosters, we can bring dogs (and cats) into rescue. Next, the goal is to find the rescues warm loving homes. We simply couldn't do our work without such community support, so thank you to all our wonderful supporters!
A few weeks ago, a donation was received because of a special dog named Biscuit. Biscuit has no more need for her food because she has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Her owner contacted Wayward Whiskers and offered up Biscuit's leftover food. Thank you Biscuit, RIP. Thank you Amna, Tia, Faisal and Laila. Our hearts are with you. Wayward Whiskers sends your family our heartfelt condolences. I know it was painful to offer up Biscuit's food and her supplies but please know that her gift will help to release the gnawing ache of hunger in the bellies of the strays that are starving and who are waiting to be rescued, and/or support the rescues in our care.
IN MEMORY OF BISCUIT
Biscuit was born March 7, 2014, and left us too soon on August 17, 2026. She was more than just a dog - she was the sunshine in our lives.
The one thing Biscuit loved most was being with her family. If we were eating dinner or watching a movie, she was always right there sitting with us. Every time one of us came home from school or work, she was the first one to run up to greet us. She was always excited to celebrate holidays, because she knew she'd get a new treat or toy each time our family sang happy birthday or opened presents.
Biscuit, we are so grateful to have had you in our lives. You brought us so much love and joy. The memories we shared will always hold a special place in our hearts.
If love was enough to keep you going, you would have lived forever. We love and miss you so much Biscuit.
Biscuit is survived by Amna (mom), Tia (sister), Faisal (brother) and Laila (sister)
