Back Road Cafe: Another Ward 5 staple. Plenty of natural light, the food is always great, breakfast is acceptable all day and drinks come in that tumbler that brings you back. How often do you go?

Safety First: Speeding and a need for more traffic calming has been a common concern throughout the ward when speaking with residents, we've seen some serious accidents as of late. The City is implementing a 40 km/h speed MAX around all elementary schools (four schools in Ward 5). This is a step in the right direction, but more work to be done here and across Windsor. Please be mindful when you're commuting and dropping little ones off. 5AFETY F1RST

We've been at this campaign for 4 months to the day and have had the support from so many friends, family, businesses and residents in Ward 5. Events, mail drops, canvassing and admin, and I can't thank everyone enough. However, there is one 5UPER VOLUNTEER that needs to be noted. Davey lives in the ward and is a fixture in Ford City. Davey is a ray of sunshine at all times and to-date has dropped off lit to 973 homes (over 10% of the entire ward) Thank you Davey for all your hard work and dedication on Team 5HANE.

There's nothing quite like talking to residents at their doorstep about the neighbourhood we all love.
See you soon. Reach out if you'd like us to come to your area next.

LET'S GET THIS SHARED A LOT! Tag anyone you know who is 18+ and a resident in Windsor who doesn't typically vote. Our city elections have a very low voter turn out, and big part of that is poor youth engagement. A municipal election is a great way for your voice to matter, it's one of the most important ways to contribute and it actually makes a huge difference. You like your parks? Vote. You wait too long for your bus, way too often? Vote. And this year it's way easier than ever. With approved ID (showing your address) you can vote at any polling location in your ward. Not sure what ward you're in?, ask your parents, ask a friend, or search "City of Windsor Elections" for all important information and candidate info so you can make an informed decision. If you live in Ward 5 (Walker to Pillette, Riverside Dr to EC Row) you can vote at any of these locations below on Monday October 26th. You can also take any City bus to get there for FREE.

(5-1) Gino and Liz Marcus Community Complex — 1168 Drouillard Road
(5-2) Lions Manor — 230 Strabane Avenue
(5-3) Most Precious Blood Church — 1947 Meldrum Road
(5-4) Constable John Atkinson Memorial Community Centre — 4270 Alice Street
(5-5) Paroisse St-Jérôme — 3739 Ypres Avenue

Over the past eight years heading up the Business Improvement Area, I've become quite familiar with City processes and realize it can be quite complicated for residents to follow along and engage, it's at many times been extremely confusing for myself. By-law changes, registering to speak at council, property applications, road closures and events. There's no one place to go or clear instructions.

I've created a section on my website called Connect 5 to simplify all the info so it's accessible for when you need it. I've included upcoming events in the Ward (if you know of other let me know), relevant links, and any items coming up at Council (with links) and decisions at council meeting. At the bottom of the page, I've also included any current road closures in the area.

Fun Fact, the logo resembles the Ford Test Track because it's at the heart of the ward and this page will keep you "in the loop"

If there is any other you think should be included let me know.
