What a week. What a crew. What a Relationship Builder.

Last Week, from August 4–9, 25 men came together at McClintock Bay for six days of learning, making, talking, laughing, sharing meals, getting outside, and most importantly, building relationships.

The mornings were full of hands-on activities led by the guys themselves: fly tying, axe handle making, leatherwork and drum making. Men sharing skills with other men, learning from each other, and stepping up to facilitate. That part of Relationship Builder is pretty special to watch.

Afternoons brought us together for conversations about membership, affiliate groups, and what we want The Nelson Project community to become.

And then came a day to just have fun.

Fishing. Mountain biking. Archery. A walk and medicine making. A steam shack. And an afternoon of drumming with Lonnie Powell that had the whole group finding rhythm, laughing, playing, and letting the inner child out for a while.

Every day also meant eating together, checking in with each other, and making space for the conversations that happen naturally when men spend real time together.

We had first-timers joining us alongside guys who have been part of the Relationship Builder community before. Different ages, backgrounds, personalities, skills and stories coming together in one place.

And by the end of the week, the feedback was pretty clear: the guys want more.

100% said they would attend another Relationship Builder. 92% said they would recommend it to another man. 92% said they made meaningful connections with other men, and 96% said the experience better equipped them to build healthy relationships.

But honestly, the numbers only tell part of the story.

The real magic is in the moments between them.

A guy teaching another guy something he knows.
Someone trying something completely new.
A conversation over breakfast that turns into a friendship.
A group finding rhythm.
Laughter.
A few vulnerable moments.
And 25 men leaving a little more connected than when they arrived.

Thank you to every guy who showed up, shared, taught, learned, cooked, laughed, listened, facilitated, challenged himself and helped make this week what it was.

And thank you to everyone who helped make it happen.

We'll see you at the next one!

The Nelson Project’s Summer Relationship Builder is back!

This August we’re gathering again at McClintock Bay for six days on the land with men from across the Yukon.

We learn by doing. We work with our hands, build things, go fishing, share meals, and spend time in conversation along the way. It’s time on the land where connection happens naturally through shared work and shared experience.

📅 August 4 to 9, 2026
📍 McClintock Bay, Marsh Lake

This is an expression of interest at this stage. Spaces are limited, and final confirmations will take place at the end of July. Registration is completed together with selected participants.

At the centre of it all is relationship building. With each other, and with the growing community around The Nelson Project.

If you’re a man (19+) and this speaks to you, reach out to express your interest. You can call, text or email us.

Meals, accommodation, stipends, and door prizes are provided.
