Heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Ms. Wong

Nasha Alana Wong, who was reported missing on May 15, 2026, has been located deceased. On the evening of June 24, 2026, Mayo RCMP responded to a report of found human remains off the Silver Trail Highway. Forensic identification has since confirmed the remains are those of Ms. Wong.

Sunday at noon everyone is welcome to attend the premiere community screening in Fort Smith, NWT, at the Frank Gruben Pride Festival at 1pm at Uncle Gabes Friendship Centre! Amidst the tragedy and confusion, q***r youth of Fort Smith are taking on grassroots community and territorial leadership in addressing our region's missing persons as Frank Gruben and purpose for loved ones left behind, while breaking barriers in our rural communities for safety, representation, inclusion, and empowerment of rural 2SLGBTQ+.

On Blue Jean Jacket Day - June 6, Edmonton's Elaine L. Briere, mother of NWT missing Lance Briere from Inuvik, NWT, shares her son dancing the Beaufort Delta regional Red River Jig, speaking out, calling on territorial residents and Canadians to do more to support missing Indigenous men and the families left behind, dealing with the nightmare, ambiguous grief and trauma. Lance, 33, was last seen Feb 8, 2025, snowmobiling between Inuvik and the over 10km skidoo ride to the Gwich'in Tribal Council Wellness Camp, working as a cook. Lance's Birthday is June 10th.

On May 5- Red Dress Day, 'In Support of the Missing North' working group is in an effort to launch a solutions-focused, educational, and investigative podcast 'Unaccounted For: The Missing Across Canada's North', centred on uplifting the over 200 unaccounted for cases and families of the missing across the Northwest Territories, Yukon, Nunavut, and beyond. Here is a teaser of some of the voices, themes, and sounds as we seek to uplift.

Voices in appearance include: Karli Zschogner (host/co-host), Ruth Wright of Old Crow/Inuvik, Laura Kalinek in Aklavik, Nicole Martel of Aboriginal Alert in Edmonton, Elaine Briere in Edmonton, Melanie DeBastien in Edmonton, Amanda Pokiak in Inuvik, author/therapist Pauline Boss in Minneapolis, Ryker Lonehardt and Sid Trevor in Fort Smith, and singing Doris Rogers in Inuvik.
