After each sewing event the machines are cleaned, needles changed and tested to ensure they are working well for the next event. Sewing tip: never blow the dust in your machine. Your breath contains moisture which makes the dust stick. Vacuuming pulls the dust off.

I'm winding bobbins again today. Tomorrow Monday March 30th I am visiting the Rotary Club of Port Hope with my fleet of sewing machines (with fresh bobbins) to sew the evening away making liners for the Girls Kits. Every liners help keep girls in school!

Why don't you hand out diva cups? This is a 3 stall latrine that we funded and built through a District grant this past Januray. Note this structure doesn't have water to rinse the cups. Nor does it have screening in case the cup slips out. The pit that holds the waste is 12 feet deep. That cup is gone if it slips. Anyone that uses a cup has had that happen. Then the female is back to the same predicament as before. The reusable kits are not a perfect solution but are a good solution for where the sanitation system is currently at......
