The CCF and WORCA teamed up to bring a group of Lil'wat youth down to Whistler to spend the day learning how to build bike trails. They did a great job building berms, rock reinforcements and trail...even on a really hot day! Thanks to Sandy Ward, Dan Raymond and Nicole Koshure for setting it up. The CCF provided transportation to and from Mount Currie. We're better together!

The Cheakamus Lake Road is looking good with 8 loads of gravel added and grading out to the Cheakamus Lake parking lot. Thanks to the Ministry of Forests for adding the grading to its summer 2024 work plan. The CCF contributed the gravel to bring the road back to good quality. Enjoy the drive!

Wildsight is a registered charity with a mission to protect biodiversity and encourage sustainable communities in the Kootenay-Columbia region of BC. They learned about the Cheakamus Community Forest and liked it so much they made a video about us. Check it out!

The Cheakamus Community Forest sits on 330 square kilometres of forest surrounding Whistler, and operates under an ecosystem management-based approach. We met with executive director Heather Beresford to learn more about how forests such as these might shape the future of forestry.
