We are excited to welcome Fervone Goings as the new Executive Director of the Westlock Community Foundation!

Fervone brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit and post-secondary sectors, along with a strong commitment to community, partnership, and long-term impact. Having grown up in Westlock, she brings both professional experience and a meaningful personal connection to the region.

“We are delighted to welcome Fervone as Executive Director. She brings a strong combination of leadership experience, community understanding, and a thoughtful approach to stewardship. We are confident she will help guide the Foundation through its next stage of growth and impact.” —Ralph Leriger, Board Chair

We’re looking forward to this next chapter and to continuing our work supporting local organizations, initiatives, and community priorities.

Spring grant application season is coming to a close on April 1. Next up: the intense but inspiring work of reviewing the applications to see the latest ideas and initiatives that will help shape the future of our community!

You don’t have to come up with a project to be part of enriching community life. When you donate to the Westlock Community Foundation — whether to a particular cause that’s important to you or in support of general Community Priorities — your gift becomes part of something special.

Endowments work by investing a larger pool of funds that pay dividends over time, providing a stable, reliable source of funds, year after year. Your contribution creates a ripple effect that will resonate across the region and over time.

You can invest in the kind of community you want to live in — and want future generations to grow up in — at westlockfoundation.ca/donate

The Westlock Community Foundation is honoured to have been entrusted with the Westlock United Church’s $100,000 food security endowment.

The funds came from the sale of the United Church building in the centre of town (now the site of Kerri’s Café).

Ensuring food security in the Westlock region is an important cause to the United Church community. Creating this endowment fund ensures that this money will be administered carefully, grow, and serve the community for years to come.

Last month, Westlock Community Foundation Board Chair Ralph Leriger, left, presented a $25,000 grant to Steven Miller, President of the Westlock & District Tractor Museum Foundation (Canadian Tractor Museum).

This grant was fuelled by the Community Priorities Grant - Capital Stream, and exemplifies precisely what this grant stream is for. As Steven states:

“The funds received will enable the museum to construct a new building specifically designed to store and display our collection of vintage harvest equipment. This expansion will provide the public with greater access to view and appreciate these valuable artifacts, preserving important aspects of our agricultural heritage for future generations.”

Does your organization need support for a capital expenditure? Apply for the Community Priorities Grant - Capital Stream before April 1. Visit westlockfoundation.ca/grants today for help securing your group’s future.
