If you didn't know the race was yesterday, the race was yesterday. This event is organised as a fundraiser for an organization each year (this being the third year) by . What makes this event so special is having to practice your skills and ability to pump and carry speed for a top to bottom descent without pedaling, as your chain is removed before you can start the stage. It's a fun and creative way to ride your bike that doesn't really feel like your bike anymore. It's amazing how much difference having a chain makes!
A big notable mention to Mike for his dedication to the sport, for not only does he volunteer his time to organize it, build the trophies, coordinate and attain sponsorship, and host the event, he also shows up to trail days and helps to build and maintain these trails. Those new corners on FOMO? Yep, he helped with them! (He's on the far right in the vid) Those improvements last fall? Yep! He also provided the bbq and cooked for that fall trail day. Rumor has it he's also cooking for this year's big fall trail day too. Yay Mike!

After all that logging in Rose Valley, today RDCO harnessed MTBCO volunteers to assist in the tree planting, and get a little dirty. Won't be long now, and a good portion of the logged area will hopefully have a bunch of fresh growth to help bring more life back to the devastated park!
It's awesome to see the turnout, and helps show how much the park matters to us! A big thanks to all those that came out and spent their Saturday helping the lands.

From the Boyz N The Wood that brought you the restful benches and stools at the Feel The Love trailhead, comes the additions and repairs in time for the Chainless Race this weekend!
Keep the rubber down juju by keeping your bike rubber down!
Plus a little corner buildup to see how long it lasts before a bigger surgical procedure needs to be performed.

Photographic evidence of the rare sighting of a trail fairy in Rose Valley. Keep your eyes peeled out there! 👀
They're known to travel alone or in small groups, often traveling uphill on DH trails with big back packs full of tools and snacks.
Although they're gentle and friendly in nature, it's advised to approach with caution as they can be quick to anger if you poach their work before they're done. Tools of infinite mtb joy can turn in an instant to a projectile. (Just kidding)

Heads up! Trail work season is in full swing!
From Saturday March 21, to Tuesday March 24: We are CLOSING Feel the Love from the More Cowbell junction down to where it reconnects. There will be a machine working in the area so this is for safety.
Much fun can be had afterwards, but in the mean time please avoid it! And it's not a paid crew so don't think working hours means anything 🤪 closed is closed. Thanks in advance! 😘
