Just a friendly reminder that registration for our 2026–2027 skating season is NOW OPEN! 🎉

Our CanSkate and StarSkate programs are led by Coach Julie McNeill, who has been coaching with the Evangeline Skating Club for OVER 40 YEARS!! Incredible! 🤯⛸️

For generations, skaters have taken their very first steps and glides on the ice with Coach Julie cheering them on every step of the way. Her experience, encouragement, and love of skating have made her such a special part of the Evangeline Skating Club. Simply put — she’s the best, and we are very lucky to have her! 💙

Coach Julie can’t wait to welcome back familiar faces and meet all of our new skaters this season!

⛸️ WHAT IS CANSKATE? ⛸️

Before registration goes LIVE tomorrow, let’s break down what CanSkate is all about! 👀💙

CanSkate is Skate Canada’s learn-to-skate program, designed to help skaters build confidence and develop the basic skills they need on the ice. Whether your child is interested in figure skating, hockey, ringette, speed skating, or simply wants to learn to skate — CanSkate is the place to start!

At the Evangeline Skating Club, we offer:

❄️ Pre-CanSkate – First-time skaters age 5 and under
⏰ 30-minute sessions
📅 Mondays & Fridays | 6:00–6:30 PM

⛸️ CanSkate – Skaters age 5+ or returning skaters
⏰ 45-minute sessions
📅 Mondays & Fridays | 6:00–6:45 PM

Skaters learn at their own pace in a fun and encouraging environment while building balance, control, agility and confidence on the ice.

💙 No previous skating experience required — ALL are welcome!

⛸️ QU’EST-CE QUE CANSKATE? ⛸️

Avant l’ouverture des inscriptions demain, voici un petit aperçu du programme CanSkate! 👀💙

CanSkate est le programme national d’apprentissage du patinage de Patinage Canada. Il aide les patineurs à développer leur confiance ainsi que les habiletés de base sur la glace. Que votre enfant s’intéresse au patinage artistique, au hockey, à la ringuette, au patinage de vitesse ou qu’il souhaite simplement apprendre à patiner — CanSkate est un excellent point de départ!

Au Club de patinage Évangéline, nous offrons :

❄️ Pré-CanSkate – Pour les nouveaux patineurs âgés de 5 ans et moins
⏰ Séances de 30 minutes
📅 Les lundis et vendredis | 18 h à 18 h 30

⛸️ CanSkate – Pour les patineurs âgés de 5 ans et plus ou les patineurs qui reviennent
⏰ Séances de 45 minutes
📅 Les lundis et vendredis | 18 h à 18 h 45

Les patineurs progressent à leur propre rythme dans un environnement amusant et encourageant, tout en développant leur équilibre, leur contrôle, leur agilité et leur confiance sur la glace.

💙 Aucune expérience préalable en patinage n’est requise — TOUT LE MONDE EST BIENVENU!

Velocity is hosting a synchro camp on September 19th at the Evangeline Recreation Centre. Come out for an afternoon of skating, teamwork, and fun — no previous synchro experience required!

There are opportunities to become involved in our Club, either as a Board Member or as a Club Volunteer. We work as a team to provide high quality skating programs in our community. Everyone is welcome!

Following the final review of registrations, officials, and technical assessment requirements, several event times have been adjusted. While all events remain on the same competition day, the order and start times of a number of events have changed.
