As part of Skate Canada Prince Edward Island, our mission is to deliver quality skating programs and to develop competitive skaters. We are located at the new Evangeline Recreation Centre in Abram Village. The Evangeline Skating Club is a sanctioned Skate Canada Club that abides by the rules and regulations of Skate Canada. The ESC operates as a not for profit organization, to provide the opportun

ity for skaters to succeed and have fun skating. The Club is a member of the Prince Edward Island Section. Programs are offered for boys and girls interested in learning to skate, hockey and ringette skill development, powerskating, and of course figure skating. All students are evaluated by our coach and then if necessary the level your child is in is adjusted.

⛸️ Intro to Coaching Solo Dance

Skate Canada PEI is pleased to offer a virtual webinar for coaches who are interested in learning more about coaching solo dance.

📅 Date: Wednesday, June 17, 2026
⏰ Time: 7:30 PM Atlantic
💻 Format: Virtual Webinar via Microsoft Teams

Hosted by JD Gilmour, Coach and Technical Official, and Gregor McLean, Technical Official and Judge.

This session is open to coaches who are interested in offering solo dance in their club programs. No previous solo dance experience is required.

Topics will include:
• Getting started in competitive dance
• Opportunities for skaters in the Maritimes this season
• Segments of ice dance competition
• Understanding Key Points and Elements
• Advice from expert officials across Canada
• Question period

Save the Date: Ice Dance Judge Clinic

Skate Nova Scotia will be hosting an Ice Dance Judge Clinic on September 26 and 27, 2026, at Sport Nova Scotia in Halifax.

This clinic is a great opportunity for judges and officials to learn from experienced officials, build confidence in judging ice dance, and collaborate with peers.

CanSkate Coaches Course Opportunity

Skate Nova Scotia will be hosting a CanSkate Coaches Course on July 11 & 12, 2026, at St. Margaret’s Centre in Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia. Please visit Skate PEI website to download the application form.

Approximate Times:
Saturday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Registration Deadline: June 26, 2026
Space Limit: 18 participants, first come, first served

Required pre-course e-learning must be completed before July 3, 2026:
• Part A – Coaching Foundations e-learning course
• Part B – CanSkate Foundations e-learning course

Registrations received after June 26 will be $550.00 and accepted only if space is still available.
