Many children depend on school meal programs during the year, and when classes end, that support isn’t available. We’re happy to step in over the summer to help bridge that gap, ensuring kids in our community still have access to healthy, nourishing meals.

The Kiwanis Club of Welland was pleased to welcome Christina and Rachel from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara to this week’s meeting for an engaging and informative presentation.

We had the opportunity to learn more about the incredible work their organization is doing across the Niagara region—providing meaningful mentorship opportunities that help young people build confidence, develop life skills, and reach their full potential.

Thank you, Christina and Rachel, for sharing your time and insights with us. The impact you’re making in our community is truly inspiring, and we’re proud to support organizations that are shaping brighter futures for local youth.

This past Saturday, Paul Gowan, President of the Welland Kiwanis Club, had the pleasure of welcoming an amazing group of spellers to the Kiwanis Niagara Spelling Bee.

With over 145 students from 46 schools across the region, ages 6 to 14, the talent and enthusiasm on display across all three divisions was incredible to see.

The Kiwanis Clubs of Welland, St. Catharines, and Stamford are extremely proud to support this amazing event, and it continues to be a highlight—celebrating learning, confidence, and community.

On behalf of all three clubs, Paul welcomed the spellers and wished them the best of luck. Best of all, the winners from each division will go on to represent our region at the national championships in Toronto!

Great job to all the participants—you should be very proud!

Supporting Early Literacy in Niagara 📚

Our club was thrilled to present a $16,000 donation from the St. Catharines, Stamford, and Welland Kiwanis Clubs to the ECCDC. This funding will help support the design and development of early literacy resources for local licensed child care programs across Niagara.

Over the past 20 years, the Kiwanis Clubs of Niagara have contributed an incredible $200,000 toward enhancing early literacy in licensed child care centres—making a lasting impact on children, families, and our community💙
