If you’re struggling with shame…
You can face your past without living in it.

You can acknowledge what happened.
You can take responsibility for your choices.
You can learn from what you’ve been through.
And you can still choose to move forward.

Shame says, “This is who you are.”
Grace says, “This is not the end of your story.”

You don’t have to deny your past to experience freedom from it.

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
— Romans 8:1

Your past may be part of your story, but it doesn’t have to be where your story ends. ❤️

Things we don’t say enough in recovery:
You don’t have to understand everything before you take the next step.

You may not know how everything will work out.
You may still have questions.
You may not feel ready.

That’s okay.

Sometimes faith means taking the next step before you can see the whole path.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be willing to take the next step.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
Psalm 119:105

One step. One day. One moment at a time.

🍂 Happy Thanksgiving Monday from Celebrate Recovery Canada!

Today, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the many things we’re thankful for — the people who walk alongside us, the communities that support us, and the hope and healing we find through Jesus.

Recovery reminds us that even in the middle of life’s challenges, there is always room for gratitude. We can be thankful for how far we’ve come, the lessons we’ve learned, and the freedom God continues to bring into our lives.

We’re especially grateful for each of you who make Celebrate Recovery a place where people can find hope, experience freedom, and discover they don’t have to walk this journey alone.

What are you thankful for in your recovery journey today?

Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed Thanksgiving!

If you’re struggling with anger…
Anger may be part of your story, but it doesn’t have to write the next chapter.

Anger can point to something that matters—something that hurts, something that feels unfair, or something that needs attention. But we don’t have to let anger make our choices for us.

You can acknowledge what you feel without being controlled by it.
You can process what’s underneath the anger.
You can choose a different response.

Your anger doesn’t have to define you. There is a path toward healing, freedom, and peace.

“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”
— James 1:19

Recovery gives us a safe place to be honest about what’s happening inside us—and learn healthier ways to respond.

❤️ You don’t have to let yesterday’s anger write tomorrow’s story.

Things we don’t say enough in recovery:
Progress doesn’t always feel like progress.

Sometimes progress looks like getting back up.
Sometimes it looks like saying no.
Sometimes it looks like asking for help.
Sometimes it’s simply choosing not to give up.

Recovery isn’t always a straight line, and growth isn’t always easy to see while you’re in the middle of it.

Don’t dismiss the small steps. God is still at work.

“Do not despise these small beginnings...”
Zechariah 4:10

Keep going. What feels small today may be evidence of how far you’ve already come.

If you’re struggling with people-pleasing…
You don’t have to earn your worth by keeping everyone happy.

You can love people without constantly saying yes.
You can set a boundary without feeling guilty.
You can disappoint someone without being a disappointment.
You can care about what others think without making their approval the measure of your worth.

Your worth was never meant to depend on how well you meet everyone else’s expectations.

You are already worthy of love, grace and belonging.

“Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?”
— Galatians 1:10

Recovery can help us learn that we don’t have to lose ourselves to be loved by others. ❤️

Things we don’t say enough in recovery:
There is no shame in needing support.

We weren’t created to carry everything on our own. Sometimes strength looks like reaching out, being honest, and allowing someone to walk alongside us.

You don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.

Asking for help isn’t weakness. It’s a step toward healing.

“Two are better than one... If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” Ecclesiastes 4:9–10

Sometimes, that first step is simply saying, “I need some help.”
