We reject the latest attacks from the Zionist entity and the U.S. against South Lebanon, Iran, and the continued genocide in Gaza.

Echoing the same rhetoric made by Yoav Gallant about Gaza in 2023, Ben Gvir promises the genocidal weaponization of elements necessary for life against Lebanese people.

On May 17, PYM KW marked the 78th year of the ongoing Nakba with the community.

To mark 78 years of the ongoing Nakba is not just a day—it’s testament of the diaspora to resist, rebuild, and be resilient—to assert the right of return to Palestine. This year’s theme was Planting Seeds of Return, which included workshops of poppy planting, mosaic tile making, sharing of testimonies from the Nakba by community members across generations, and a reading and discussion circle of Unbarred and Free: The Prisoners Edition newspaper.

Our task in this 78th year of Nakba is to stay united in the face of the occupation, and to remember that return is not just a physical act, it is a political commitment to liberation.

Join us today in marking 78 years of Nakba. Through workshops, testimonies and community building we reassert our commitment to our liberation.

78 years ago, Zionist forces attempted to erase the Palestinian people, their culture, land and history and rewrite it to fit their narrative. Today, we stand stronger than ever, more committed to our cause and unrelenting in our love for our culture, history and movement.

See you all soon as we reaffirm our commitment to our liberation through our community

On Sunday, join us for our planting seeds of return workshops. Every workshop centers around a different portion of Palestinian culture and resistance. As the zionist entity attempts to erase Palestinian identity and culture we replant our roots deeper and commit to not only honoring our heritage but learning and passing it down for generations to come.

See you all tomorrow!!

This year, we commemorate 78 years of the Palestinian people’s struggle against dispossession, genocide, and forced displacement at the hands of the Zionist colonial project. And for 78 years, our people have continued to resist, carrying on the struggle generation after generation

FRIDAY MAY 15
Join Deeply Rooted for a multiple short film screening, O Lone Traveller that explores the themes of border-crossing. Through five powerful short films, we sit with the realities of movement, rupture, and the afterlives of displacement, not just as geography, but as something carried in the body, memory, and language.

SATURDAY MAY 16
Join PYM Toronto and thousands of others to come together to demand an end to the ongoing Nakba and to affirm that we will struggle until full liberation and return.

SUNDAY MAY 17
Join us at PYM KW at Waterloo Park for our Community Nakba Event! We’ll be marking the 78th year of the Nakba by honouring Palestinian history and unwavering resistances by joining together as community to learn our history, plant poppies, create beautiful mosaics, share food with BBQ and keep the vision of return alive.

SUNDAY MAY 31
Join Independent Jewish Voices and Neighbours for Palestine for a screening of All That’s Left of Us, that will also be raising money for The Freedom Flotilla Collation to support their mission on breaking the siege.

ADDITIONAL SHOW TIMES

Thank you to everyone that came to the PYM KW screening and discussion of Palestine 36. We packed the cinema and took away powerful themes of Palestinian resistance from occupation long before the Nakba, which is often when the Palestinian story begins.

In case you couldn’t make it, you can still watch it this week at the Princess Original (Waterloo) or the Playhouse Cinema (Hamilton).

"From this small land, we grew.
Our river birthed creeds and bloodlines
Our rhythm has always been
die standing
In spite of wretched planes
and all that life fractures,
we remain.
Even if skies crush our land
our song sings on."
— Saleem Al-Naffar, Gaza, 1963-2023

Because some stories refuse to be buried…
Additional screenings of Palestine36 in Waterloo & Hamilton.
Because some stories must keep being told again and again. 🇵🇸
