Calling All Indigenous Voices!!

With the launch of the Indigenous Prosperity Centre’s new website, we’re proud to introduce Indigenous Voices—a dedicated space within our website for Indigenous writers, creatives, and storytellers to share their work.

Indigenous Voices is a community-driven platform rooted in sharing and celebrating Indigenous knowledge, stories, and creativity. This is not IPC’s news or marketing—it’s a space to uplift your voice, ideas, and perspectives in your own words.

At IPC, we recognize that storytelling is a powerful part of economic and community life. This space exists to honour those voices and create room for them to be shared, heard, and valued.

Each month, we’ll introduce a theme to help guide submissions and create space for different stories to emerge. As we enter this new chapter, our first call is open—you’re invited to share anything that feels meaningful to you.

Whether it’s a personal reflection, a poem, youth writing, or a creative piece, we welcome you to share what you feel called to express.

Sharing Your Work
Each month, one submission will be selected to be featured on our social media channels and in our newsletter—an opportunity to share your voice with a wider audience and celebrate your work with the community.

What to Include
Your name (or indicate if you’d prefer to remain anonymous)
The Nation or community you belong to
Any additional context you’d like to share about your piece
Whether you’d like your work to be considered for social media and newsletter features

Submit Your Work

This platform is a dynamic digital hub designed to support Indigenous economic development, strengthen partnerships, and amplify Indigenous voices across the region.

One of the features we’re especially looking forward to growing is the Opportunities Hub, a space where partners and organizations can share opportunities and connect with Indigenous communities, businesses, and talent.

We invite you to explore the site and be part of shaping it.

A message from Tarrin Sam, the Indigenous Prosperity Centre’s Acting Executive Director

A Dedication to Christina Clarke

As I step into the role of Acting Executive Director of the Indigenous Prosperity Centre, I feel it’s important to take a moment to honour the person who has guided me, supported me, and showed me what true leadership looks like - Christina Clarke.

For those who know Christina, you know she leads with both brilliance and kindness. She is strategic and visionary, but also deeply grounded in community and culture. What stands out most for me, however, is her generosity, the way she shares her knowledge, her time, and her wisdom with those around her. Christina has been my mentor from the very beginning of my time at IPC. She has believed in me, pushed me to grow, and reminded me that leadership is not about titles but about showing up consistently, building trust, and creating space for others
to thrive.

Under Christina’s leadership, IPC became more than an organization, it became a connector, a collaborator, and a trusted partner. She has laid a foundation rooted in relationships and respect, one that I feel privileged to carry forward. Stepping into this role, I know I’m not simply following in her footsteps but walking a path she helped clear, one lined with the values she instilled in our team and the vision she championed for Indigenous-led prosperity.

Christina, thank you for being my teacher and my mentor, but also for being an example of what it means to lead with heart. I carry your teachings with me in this new chapter, and I am so grateful for the time we’ve had together at IPC. Your impact will continue to guide me and guide IPC, well into the future.

Tomorrow, September 30th, is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It is a day to honour Survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities. It is also a time to reflect on the ongoing impacts of colonialism and commit to meaningful reconciliation.

We encourage everyone to engage with Indigenous voices, learn from Indigenous media, and support Indigenous Peoples, families, and communities, not just tomorrow, but year-round.

Explore our resource list to see what’s happening locally and where to find opportunities for learning and reflection.🧡
