An update on a new development in Vernon: Via District. 🌱 Remember: - Vernon’s municipal election is a few months away. Let’s vote in a council that upholds best planning practices, follows the climate action plan, and prioritizes builds that Vernon residents can genuinely afford to live in.

The Vernon team is already having a busy week getting involved in the community.

As part of an ongoing civic engagement learning series, the team attended a Vernon City Council meeting and observed a vote on a proposed Official Community Plan amendment for a large urban development project.

The team also attended the final Climate Ambassador Program meeting before the summer break, where they had the chance to present and connect with the YCC Kelowna team.

The Climate Ambassador Program, launched by the City of Vernon and the Climate Action Advisory Committee, helps residents have meaningful conversations about climate action with their friends, families, and communities.

Another highlight was the CARE Expo, which brought together more than 500 students and showcased over 150 projects. The team even got to sing some environmental-themed songs with an elementary school class.
