Meals available for the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend! 🦃

🍂 Happy Sunday! 🧡

With Thanksgiving weekend just around the corner, we want to take a moment to say thank you to the Social Planning Council for the North Okanagan and NexusBC Community Resource Centre for preparing and providing the 2026 Thanksgiving Weekend Meal Programs.

As the cost of living continues to rise faster than many incomes and pensions, more people in our community are finding it difficult to keep up with the cost of groceries.

Even some of our tenants living in independent affordable housing, where no meals or support services are provided, are feeling the pressure of rising food costs and trying to stretch their monthly income to cover everything they need.

Affordable housing helps, but having an affordable place to live doesn't always mean there is enough left over for groceries, medications and other necessities. 🏠

That is why community partnerships like this matter so much.🧡

Thank you to everyone who is helping make sure that our friends and neighbours have access to a nutritious meal and a little extra support this Thanksgiving weekend.

We are grateful for organizations and people who continue to lead with love and kindness and look out for those in our community who may be struggling.

As we continue supporting our unhoused and vulnerable community members, we're running low on several essential clothing items.
We are currently looking for donations of:

Ladies:
• Socks
• Pants
• Hoodies

Mens:
• Shoes
• Pants
• Hoodies
• Hats
• Underwear

Every donation makes a difference and helps provide comfort, dignity, and support to those who need it most.

If you have any of these items to donate, please send us a message. We can arrange pickup for larger donations if needed.

If you are having a garage sale and have any men’s or ladies clothing, shoes, blankets, or other suitable items such as: Toiletries, make-up, backpacks, duffle bags, reusable grocery bags, notebooks, magazines, refillable water bottles, plastic cutlery, disposable bowls.

One of our Hope Outreach Vernon volunteers would be happy to pick them up and help get them to those in need in our community. ❤️

70-year-old Guy Walter Reginald Rutledge who was reported missing from Vernon, British Columbia, has been located safe.

💧 We Need Your Help, Vernon! 💧

As the weather warms up, many of the men and women are looking for something as simple—and essential—as a cold drink.

We are currently in need of donations of bottled water, juice boxes, sports drinks, and other ready-to-go beverages to hand out during our outreach evenings.

If you’re able to donate, it would make a huge difference in helping us keep people hydrated, safe, and cared for during the warmer months.
