Alhamdulillah! By the infinite mercy and blessings of Allah (SWT), we are pleased to announce the successful completion of the 2nd Deep Well Water Project for The Umar Islamic College Akkaraipattu, Sri Lanka.

This meaningful initiative was organized by Sri Lankan Muslim Society of BC (SLMSBC) and made possible through the generous support and contributions of the Sri Lankan Muslim Community of BC.

We pray that Allah (SWT) accepts this project as Sadaqah Jariyah, blesses all our generous donors, and rewards everyone who contributed towards making this effort a reality.

A special Jazakum Allahu Khairan to all the dedicated volunteers and individuals who gave their time, effort, and support to bring this project to completion.

May Allah (SWT) continue to bless you all abundantly and make this a source of ongoing reward for everyone involved.

Mercy Trip Sri Lanka 2026 - Update

Organized by Droplets of Mercy in collaboration with Yahya Momla, Humanitarian mission has officially begun. Alhamdulillah, we are honored to share the impact being made through your generous support and the lives being touched across Sri Lanka.

Summary – June 16, 2026

Droplets of Mercy Ground Team Office – Trincomalee
Journey began with a visit to the Droplets of Mercy ground team office, meeting the dedicated individuals working tirelessly to serve vulnerable communities. Learning about their operations, challenges, and the exceptional accountability they maintain in ensuring that every donation is used effectively and reaches those who need it most.

Karimalayootru Vidyalayam – Trincomalee District
Then visited a rural primary school serving children from underprivileged fishing families. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, privilege of opening a new Smart Classroom, providing students with access to modern educational technology and creating new opportunities for learning and growth. Meeting the students, parents, and teachers was both inspiring and humbling.


Their next stop, distributed school backpacks and educational supplies to students from low-income families, helping ease a significant financial burden on parents. Despite the intense heat, the children's smiles brightened the day as they enjoyed a special ice cream treat.

Orphan Sponsorship Program Gathering – Trincomalee Area
The most memorable part of the day was spending time with 100 orphaned children and their mothers. Shared lunch together, enjoyed nasheeds, cultural performances, games, and activities, and witnessed the incredible resilience, strength, and hope of these remarkable children. It was an emotional and unforgettable experience that reminded why this work is so important.

Making a Meaningful Impact
This journey continues to demonstrate the power of compassion, education, orphan care, and community development. Every contribution from our supporters is helping transform lives and bring hope to children and families across Sri Lanka.

Assalamu Alaikum,

We are pleased to announce that Mercy Trip Sri Lanka 2026, organized by Droplets of Mercy, will take place from June 14, 2026, to June 20, 2026.

This humanitarian mission is dedicated to supporting underprivileged children and vulnerable communities across Sri Lanka through orphanage visits, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) projects, and food distribution initiatives.

Sri Lanka is home to many children and families facing significant challenges. Through this Mercy Trip, our team will have the opportunity to directly engage with these communities and make a meaningful impact by providing care, support, and essential resources.

During the trip, the team will:
* Visit orphanages and spend quality time with children
* Participate in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) projects
* Distribute food and essential supplies to families in need
* Support humanitarian initiatives that bring hope and positive change to local communities

This inspiring mission will be led by Shaykh Yahya Momla, who will guide the team throughout this transformative journey of service and compassion.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to all donors who generously contributed to the BCMA / SLMSBC Donation Drive . Your donations have been entrusted to Droplets of Mercy and will be distributed to deserving beneficiaries across Sri Lanka. Your generosity and support will help bring relief, hope, and smiles to many families and children in need.

Assalamu Alaikum ورحمة الله وبركاته

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the Eid-ul-Adha Celebrations 2026!
On May 27, 2026, more than 700 members of the Sri Lankan Muslim community in Vancouver gathered at Riverside Banquet Hall to celebrate Eid in a truly memorable and historic way. Masha Allah, it was a beautiful gathering filled with faith, unity, friendship, and community spirit. imam Hashim Al-Abed delivered an impactful sermon .
One of the most touching moments from the celebration was the reunion of two friends who met each other again after 54 years. Stories like these remind us of the strong bonds and lifelong connections within our community.
This event also marked the second consecutive Eid prayer organized by the Sri Lankan Muslim Society of BC (SLMSBC), followed by a delicious traditional Sri Lankan breakfast featuring more than six varieties of authentic dishes, desserts, and tea enjoyed by all.
This successful event would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of the SLMSBC committee, our generous donors, and the amazing volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make everything come together smoothly.
Thank you all for making this celebration so special and unforgettable. May our community continue to grow stronger in unity, compassion, and togetherness.
