Last week, Furnish Forward was honoured to receive the Youth Achievement Award from the

This recognition is a meaningful milestone for our team and a reminder of why this work matters. Furnish Forward was created to address two connected challenges: usable furniture being sent to landfill, and families, newcomers, students, and individuals rebuilding their lives struggling to access essential household items.

Through furniture reuse and redistribution, we are working to advance the circular economy, reduce waste, and help people furnish their homes with dignity.

We are grateful to the Recycling Council of British Columbia for recognizing youth led climate action and community based solutions. We also want to thank our volunteers, donors, partners, recipients, and supporters who continue to help bring this work to life.

This award encourages us to keep building a more circular, inclusive, and sustainable future.

150 furniture items saved from landfill. 🌱

Every item given a second life means less waste, more dignity, and a stronger circular economy.

Thank you to everyone who has booked a pickup, volunteered, shared our work, or supported us along the way. This impact is only possible because of community.

Here’s to saving more furniture, reducing waste, and allowing us to furnish more homes.

Last week, Furnish Forward had the opportunity to be at the at Summit Conference as industry mentors.

It was an incredible experience connecting with students, sharing our journey, and engaging with fellow professionals who are all working towards meaningful impact. Conversations like these remind us why community-driven, sustainable solutions matter now more than ever.

Even more exciting, these conversations come at a time when we’re growing. We’re currently looking to bring on a student intern to join our team and be part of the work we’re building.

If you’re passionate about sustainability, circular economy, and creating real impact in your community, we’d love to connect.
