Story of Danny
This August, I was in Uganda, my friend Chris, runs a small school in a slum area in Kampala, while there, as I was taking pictures of the school, this young boy wanted to be in the pictures. He was not a student, he was a refugee from Congo, living near the school with his mother and young baby sister. Very poor, father nowhere to be seen. Later that week I heard, the boy had broken his leg and the mother could not take him to hospital, no money. He would probably be lame, crippled for the rest of his life. They wonāt even look at you before you pay. So the last day of my Uganda visit Chris and I spent in the hospital to have the boys leg x-rayed. It was definitely broken. We asked the mother what she wanted to do, she did not want a cast, she wanted the local medicine woman to treat it instead. I was amazed, because in two weeks the boy was walking. We did a little fundraising and enrolled him to the school. He has been thriving. That was a beginning of this little foundation, one child at a time, as we can manage. We hope you can join us and help in any little way. Please like and share, later as we get more organized, we will see how we can grow. This is for children like Danny, many out there, but we will concentrate on one at the time.
