An enormous and heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the Editors/Réviseurs Canada conference such a memorable—and playful!—experience. An extra portion of thanks to Adrienne Montgomerie and Amber Riaz for their thoughtful and thought-provoking keynotes. I loved every session I was able to sit in on, and I look forward to catching up on the others when the recordings are available. This conference was a prodigious labour of love that wouldn’t have been possible without all the volunteers (including the best committee a chair could ask for!).

Much love and many thanks to all!

Yours in exhaustion (but also enthusiasm!),
Tara ❤️

If anyone has a couple of hours to donate over the June 21-23 weekend, the Editors Canada conference is looking for volunteers! (You don’t have to be a member. You don’t even have to be an editor. You can be editing curious. Haha.) Info below:

As you may know, Editors Canada is a volunteer-run organization and our conferences are similarly volunteer-powered!

We'd love to have you fill one or more volunteer spots for this year's Editors Canada Conference, which runs from Friday 21 June through Sunday 23 June at the SFU Harbour Centre (515 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC). Please follow https://signup.com/go/argGneR to view and sign up for your spots! Then, please share this link, https://signup.com/go/argGneR, with your networks and get your friends to volunteer with you--it's always more fun with friends!

Do you need a little more convincing? We're thrilled to offer you one complementary conference session of your choice in thanks for each volunteer shift that you complete during the conference!

SignUp.com makes it easy to coordinate school events & classroom activities, fundraisers, snack schedules, potlucks & more!

The zombie rules of grade school stole marks for every sentence-ending preposition or split infinitive. Bloodstained pages, slashed by a cruel red pen, fill you with dread. Internet typo trolls try to invalidate your words. Fear not! A good editor is your ally, helping ensure your intent comes across to readers — only (a little bit) evil when it’s called for. Join us as we travel the dark and often misunderstood path of the author–editor relationship. With Editors British Columbia, Host Kyle Hawke welcomes Panelists Maureen McGuigan, Frances Peck, and Tara Avery.
