On a crisp Sunday night in September 2010, a group of university students decided to host a potluck dinner to gather friends and take a break from their busy lives. Since that Sunday it has become a ritual dinner held at several houses near universities such as Laurier, Queens, McGill and UBC. The potlucks are called “Sunday Funday” as they symbolize having fun on a Sunday, a day many dread becaus
e of the impending doom of Monday. Our mission is to spread the fun and joy that we have at our Sunday Funday potluck dinners to others. Guests bring a nonperishable food item along with their potluck dish in the hopes that we will not be the only ones in the community with happy, full stomachs. We have the privilege to meet with our friends, relax, and catch up on a weekly basis; while doing so, we hope that our efforts bring some relief and bliss to those in need. What better way to spend your Sunday evening than having dinner with a few close friends while supporting the local food bank?
- Send us an email with your team name, phone number and the address of where your Sunday Funday dinners will be held.
- One of our executive members will collect the non-perishable food items at the end of your evening.
- At the end of the month all our collected food will be brought to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society to be distributed to those in need. MAKE A DONATION OR BECOME A SPONSOR
