Enterprising Women Making Art - EWMA EWMA Studio & Store Enterprising Women Making Art (EWMA) is a program of Atira Women's Arts Society.

The program encourages women to sell their art and handmade products as an act of personal, community and economic empowerment. Blending art, community and social entrepreneurship, EWMA works with emerging female & female-identified artists in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside to participate in a democratic and equitable social enterprise that coordinates the pooling of resources to produce and market

women's visual art and handmade products. EWMA's Goals

Improve socio-economic conditions; promote recognition of the strengths and capacities of the DTES low-income community; increase individual self-sufficiency; create sustainable income opportunities for marginalized women; empower the artisans; promote local production and help to create a fair connection between producer and consumer.

On International Women’s Day, we honor more than resilience, we recognize impact. At Atira Women's Resource Society, women seek safety, stability, and the chance to begin again. Because of your support, we’re there when they need us most.
In 2025 so far:
• 1,272 women have found safe housing
• 331 children have been sheltered alongside their mothers
• 282,227 meals have been served
• 6,633 women reached out for help but were turned away due to limited capacity
• 8,100+ women are rebuilding their lives with ongoing support Today, we celebrate strength. Every day, we commit to action. 💜

Artist Taxes Webinar
Next week we present our first workshop as part of the Eastside Arts Society's annual Artist Professional Development Series; register for our FREE webinar on February 12th, 2026, from 2:00PM to 3:00PM PST. This webinar, on filing taxes as a self-employed artist, is offered through the Canada Revenue Agency.

There is no Q&A session in this webinar. Participants may submit their technical questions to the Liaison Officer via the web link provided during the webinar to set up a one-on-one meeting with the Liaison Officer to provide a more complete, specialized answer to the taxpayer's questions.

This webinar may not be recorded for participants to watch at a later date.
