QUARANTINE: THE FIRST CLASS IN BABY STEPS 🐻💛

After spending most of their lives in small farm cages since cubhood, Oriole and Cuckoo are now discovering things many bears learn as babies - how to play, explore, relax, and enjoy the simple joy of fresh leaves.

Every sniff, stretch, roll, and curious little moment is part of learning a life they were never given the chance to have.

Right now, in quarantine, every little moment is a baby step. That’s why quarantine is so important, it gives them time to slowly adjust to sanctuary life at their own pace.

And yes… they’re both doing great. Want to learn more about a rescued bear’s first 100 days at sanctuary? https://www.animalsasia.org/our-work/bear-sanctuaries/bear-care/the-first-100-days-at-sanctuary/

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JILL ROBINSON 💛🐻🎉
For so many of us, Jill is where this journey began. The one who showed us how to care deeply, and without ever giving up.

Over the years, she hasn’t just changed the lives of bears, she’s changed all of us who’ve followed her story. And if you’ve ever met her, you’ll know… she’s exactly the same in person.

Warm.
Genuine.
Endlessly kind.

Happy Birthday, Jill, who turns kindness into action, every single day 💛

As part of his £2.43 million charity donations from his “Mortality” tour, Ricky Gervais contributed £150,000 to Animals Asia, a group working to end bear bile farming in Vietnam.

This practice affects thousands of bears, including moon bears and sun bears, which are often confined to extremely small cages for years while bile is extracted for use in traditional medicine.

The donation supports rescue efforts, medical treatment, and long-term sanctuary care, helping rehabilitate animals that have spent much of their lives in captivity. Vietnam has committed to phasing out the practice, with organizations like Animals Asia leading the transition.
