We need your attendance and vote on behalf of your Club on Saturday, Sept 19th at 1pm PST via Zoom to decide on our Speech Contest type that we will move ahead with for this 2026-2027 Toastmaster year.
The speech contest type we vote on together as a majority council will be in addition to the International Speech Contest.
We can’t move forward on choosing unless we have quorum attendance voting. This means we need you to attend to help us achieve quorum.
The three contest types we will be asking you to vote for on behalf of your club are the following:
Humorous Contest
Contestants present a humorous speech that must be thematic in nature (opening, body, and close), not a monologue (series of one-liners).
Table Topics Contest
The topic of this impromptu speech is the same for all contestants who only learn about it when they are introduced by the contest chair.
Evaluation Contest
Contestants observe a five-to seven-minute test speech and then present a two-to three-minute evaluation of the test speech.
If you are a Club President or VPE and cannot attend the meeting, you can proxy your vote for the Speech Contest type to each other only. No other Club Officer role will be allowed to cast your proxy vote on your behalf (i.e. a Club President can cast a vote on behalf of an absent VPE, they will be given two (2) votes).
