Join a Summer Camp that MAKES WAVES! 🐋🌊

🌊 Our Sea Smart summer camps are nearly SOLD OUT, and we’d love to help you catch the last wave!

A few spots remain in these hands-on camps for kids ages 6 to 10:

Camps run through July and August in the Vancouver area, at Kitsilano Beach and Trout Lake (John Hendry Park). Young campers spend their days exploring the wonders of the Pacific Northwest and the Salish Sea, learning about marine and wildlife, and what it means to care for the places we call home. 🌿

For educators, climate colleagues, and fellow community-builders: if you know a family with a little nature lover, please pass this along! Every camper we welcome is one more young person growing into a steward of our coasts and forests, and that’s the heart of our work as a youth climate charity!

Summer Camp spots are nearly full! Make sure to sign up at the link below to grab a spot if you have a nature-loving youth ages 6-10 (and are based in Vancouver over the summer)! ☀️🌊

⏳ Only 43 spots are left in our Sea Smart Summer Camps (and that number goes down every day!).

Registration is now open for our Sea Smart Summer Camps 2026 programs ☀️🐚

This July and August, youth ages 6–10 in the Greater Vancouver area can explore marine and wildlife education through hands-on, outdoor learning experiences designed to build curiosity, confidence, and connection to the natural world.

📍 Locations: Kitsilano Beach + John Hendry Park (Trout Lake)
🌿 Outdoor, place-based learning and conservation-focused activities

While summer may feel far away, spaces fill quickly and early registration is encouraged.

Thanks to the support of our generous funders, a number of spots are available through scholarships. We’re committed to keeping environmental education accessible and reducing barriers for families wherever we can.

The Starfish Canada Sea Smart Summer Camps 2026 are on the horizon 🌊🌲

We’ve opened our waitlist through February 3 for our outdoor, place-based summer camps for youth ages 6–10, based near what we colonially call Vancouver.

These programs invite young people to learn through direct experience with coastal and freshwater ecosystems, building early connections to ocean stewardship, biodiversity, and care for the lands and waters around them.

📍 Program locations include:
• Kitsilano Beach
• John Hendry Park (Trout Lake)

Camp activities range from ocean cleanups and water sampling to plant and insect identification and creative projects focused on endangered species. Each week is designed to spark curiosity, confidence, and a sense of responsibility toward local ecosystems.

💙 Scholarships are available, with several spots supported by generous donors to help increase accessibility for families in the Vancouver area.

Together, we’ve inspired over a million youth to love, learn about, and protect our ocean through engaging programs, camps, and workshops. While Sea Smart is merging with The Starfish Canada , our mission lives on stronger than ever, empowering youth to be ocean heroes.

Starting September 1, 2025, our team will become part of , a national, youth-led environmental charity. This exciting step allows us to amplify our mission and expand our impact across Canada, all while continuing to offer the programs you know and love, including our summer camps.

What stays the same?
✔︎ Sea Smart’s mission, values, name, brand, and programs remain intact.
✔︎ We’ll keep delivering ocean education and youth empowerment as usual.

What changes?
✔︎ Our staff will become part of team starting September 1.
✔︎ Increased capacity, resources, and reach across Canada in both English and French.
✔︎ Our founder, Dr. Elaine Leung, will step down as Executive Director but remain an advisor to ensure a smooth transition and keep Sea Smart’s legacy strong.
